Overall, this was a good place to stay. Very spacious with all the appliances, etc. very functional. We appreciated the fenced yard for our dog. And loved being so near the water.

We had a perfect stay! We picked this place for the handicap accessible entrance, walk in shower on the first floor and recliners in the living room, and it turned out better than we expected! The house was extremely clean, and there was more than enough room for our group of 8 and our little dog. The location was great, we were within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The view of the water from the front porch and upstairs deck was absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

This home was all we’d hoped for. The owner thought of everything; we needed to be in contact a couple of times, and he was responsive and helpful. It’s an old home, but things are updated. Beds are comfortable. The view from the deck is exceptional. We’d stay there again in a minute.

We have been coming to Morehead City for 30 years. We have always stayed with my in-laws. We would go to Beaufort at least once a day. This year we decided to rent this place. Views were amazing and so close to walk to all our favorites downtown! We had an issue with the front door lock and within an hour someone was there to help us. We will definitely stay again.

Excellent location. A Very comfortable home. Well equipped. Roof top deck with perfect furnishings and a panoramic water view. 2nd home from the public dock to enjoy fishing, kayaking and the waterfront. A large covered front porch with a swing and a view of the water. Picnic table out back and a large dining room table for gathering.
We enjoyed this home. Easy walking distance to everything. A very quiet street. It was perfect.

Entire family said they would definitely stay here again, it’s so convenient to all our favorite Beaufort adventures. We usually stay in Atlantic Beach and drive to Beaufort for a day, this is the third time we have stayed in this wonderful little town and by far this house suited our family best.
This house has that old Beaufort charm, (low ceilings, tall people beware) with some upgrades. Very comfortable accommodations and we will be back!

Our family had a wonderful time being close to everything that is Beaufort. We took the ferry to Shackleford Island and highly recommend this experience. The house offers everything you need. It is old and reflects that in character. We also had a large pet and we had plenty of space for the crate. I am grateful the owner allowed for a short stay, as we all could not commit to a full week. We will be back.

This was a wonderful retreat for our family. It is in a safe and quiet neighborhood. We loved the cottage and it’s character and charm. You can sense the history even with the updates to make it comfortable and practical for today’s living. Will definitely go back. The owner was also great on communication. Great family place.

It is only a short, very pleasant walk to the restaurants along the water and the ferry to Shackelford (and no hassle to look for parking!). We also loved to relax by walking left along the residential section of the water front. We were working remotely for a week, so we did not get to enjoy the roof top deck or simply relax on the front porch swing. We loved the large dining room table for board games after dinner. The house was plenty big enough for 2 people to have work calls simultaneously. Kitchen has plenty of supplies - pans, plates, etc. for family dinners. Our host was readily available for any questions.

Perfect spot for a real crystal coast experience. All as described, it’s an older house that fits right into the area, and has been well taken care of the uneven floors and drafts gives it the feel of the beautiful lifestyle of beufort.
Great Spot

The house itself is in a great location but it is dated and small inside. No closet space is an issue in bedrooms and everyone had to share one large closet in the master. Front porch and roof top porch were great for sitting and watching sunset or sunrise.

This was a great stay for our large family. We celebrated Thanksgiving here and were able to seat all eight of us comfortably around the table and had plenty of space in the kitchen to serve food. The views from the porch and upstairs deck are amazing—water, horses, dolphins. The back yard was inviting and several of us ate outside (yes, even in November—gotta love the ocean keeping everything warmer right next to the coast!).
Great location—easy walk or golf cart ride to town for shopping and restaurants. Also, our parents appreciated the ramp for their walkers and accessible shower on the first floor. Would definitely do this again!

Beaufort vacation
Great little house for a big family vacation, love the area! We explored shackleford island and collected huge seashells and saw wild horses. Hope to come back and explore the rest of the island plus a few more! To make this vacation perfect would have been to bring a few kayaks or a boat with us to go across the channel in-front of the home to see carrot island. We will definitely do that next time!

Close to everything you need
We have rented a house 4 years in a row in Beaufort. This house has everything you need and is close to everything. I didn't have a car for a week and rode my bike everywhere.
It has a great porch for coffee in the am, a great upper deck with great views for evening cocktails, and a fenced in back yard if you have a pet.
The beds are all comfortable and the seating area is largest enough for the whole group.
The kitchen is well stocked and there is a nice outdoor grill.
The host was there to answer any questions we had. I would rent here again.

The home has a wonderful deck with a gorgeous view of Taylor's creek that's nice on a cool day with the included gas fire pit. The interior decor could be updated given that the furniture is old and a mix-match of chairs and sofas. Watch your head going up and down the stairs to the bedrooms upstairs as there is a low beam to easily hit your head. For some reason the downstairs bathroom turns into a furnace when you're working in the kitchen. The kitchen has low countertops so if you're tall you'll find yourself bending over quite a bit to do any work there. Overall, it was a comfortable location for family to stay and it is an easy stroll to downtown although I think I'll look elsewhere for a future stay.

Perfect Beaufort location
We really enjoyed our stay in this perfect Beaufort bungalow! It is a great location with fabulous views. The covered front porch was perfect for a rainy afternoon. Walk to restaurants and shops. Nice public dock across the street

The house is in a perfect location to walk into Beaufort and have a view of the water. If you're interested in kayak lessons they park right in front of the house almost every single day with a load of tourists there all day. The house has plenty of places to sleep, good appliances and ease of getting in and out of the house. Bathrooms recently renovated and work well. The WiFi works great. There's a hodge podge of utensils and plates/cups (no wine glasses) to have enough to serve at least 7 or 8.
However, the house has an overpowering cigarette smoke smell; as a non-smoker family it irritated my kids' respiratory systems. If you're a smoker, then this is your place. If you're not then take it into account and be prepared to wash everything when you get home. Many of the outlets don't work or spark so be careful.
As a note, the gas grill doesn't get hotter than about 300-degrees. So, expect to cook slow. And there are bugs (the big roaches that wander through at night as is par for the course in this community).

GREAT LOCATION!
PRO's ~Great neighborhood and neighbors- walkable to all town amenities - boats, restaurants and museums. Relaxing front porch AND rooftop porch. Handy grill in the backyard along with fresh herbs to put the pop in your cooking. Pet friendly as well!
Home is an older home with lots of history behind it. Check the video's on the computer located in the upstairs office.
Beds were relatively comfortable and linens provided for the beds.
Bathrooms were adequate and bath linens are provided as well. These need to be updated more often.
Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots/pans and a plethora of gadgets to use.
Garage was a great safe keeping place for our rented bikes *(BIKE BEAUFORT.com) as well as our personal fishing gear and our personal paddle boards.
Driveway was big enough for two cars if parked properly.
CON's
Home seems to be in a renovation mode when there are not guests booked in. Owner was prompt and friendly with our concerns and minor issues. This is an older home with what I am sure is a list of ongoing things to get fixed/updated.

Great Location, Adequate House
The house was fine for a few days but was far from being “completely renovated” and I’m not sure what the “updated amenities” were. There WAS a very nice upper deck with amazing views of Taylor’s Creek, new furniture and a gas fire pit. The fenced in back yard was great for my dog, although the building needed to be removed. The beds were comfortable. The showers worked great but the towels and washcloths needed to be replaced.
The pictures are fairly representative and the house does contain some wonderful antiques. What is not shown - the upstairs had steps of varying heights leading to two of the bedrooms which created a “trip and fall” hazard. The living room sofa not pictured had a “throw” covering the back that appeared to be for decoration - in fact, it was to cover holes in the fabric. All of the living room furniture was “well used” and needed to be replaced. The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed to prepare a couple of meals.
Evolve asked that they be contacted for any review of less than a 5 star. On April 23, I did contact them but have yet to receive a reply.
Would I stay here again - probably not.
