My partner and I stayed here on a last minute visit to Black Mountain. The beds are super comfy, and the house has a ton of character. We love the location so close to town.

Enjoyed the stay

House has everything you need and a very short hop into town. Walkable to the lake. Enjoyed some quiet time on the porch during the mornings and evening. A return location for sure.
2.0
The pictures are deceiving, it is way more rustic. Spiders and rough sawn boards for the kitchen floor. It was musty and when you tried to open windows to air it out, there were more spiders. The dumpster was full and on the list of chores they want you to complete, you have to carry it off yourself if it’s full. We have been going to the mountains in the fall for 30 years and this was the most disappointing place we have stayed at.
5.0
The house was just as advertised and we loved the close proximity to the town center. The lake is within walking distance. We loved sitting on the porch overlooking the golf course and the mountains. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

Great get-away spot located near downtown Black Mountain, and next to Black Mountain Golf Club. The rustic cabin like 2 bedroom, 2 bath has plenty of amenities. Gas fire place, outside Weber gas grill, kitchen is fully equipped for cooking whatever you need. My dad and I really enjoyed our 2 day stay there. A little challenging for those who have walking troubles (stairs to the back porch entrance a little steep, but otherwise no problems inside)
4.0
The house was so convenient to downtown and on the golf course in a beautiful setting. There was no ice maker so bring your own ice and we did have trouble with the door code but Rachel helped from Cottonwood.

Everything was as expected per the listing. It is a cute little cabin and we enjoyed staying there. The fireplace did not seem to be working and the nights got chilly enough that we could have used it. It was an easy check in/out process. The roads to the cabin are rather narrow and people in the neighborhood don’t seem to mind the bushes growing over the side of the roads. If you have a large vehicle, use caution.

A charming little cabin with great old wood, well-appointed, good spaces.
BUT the house immediately next door is having major construction done. We arrived to at least an hour of chainsaw use with more chainsawing and a woodchipper running for a good while the next day.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, I wouldn't count on that here until sometime later this fall or winter, I'd guess. They still looked to have quite a bit of work still ahead of them in the first week of August.
No one told us so I'm telling you.
We would have booked elsewhere for sure.

Great stay
Cabin was right size.
Mid-range rustic look which good.
Too close to a golf course, thus less privacy.
No air conditioning in main livingroom.
No bathtub.

Love the house cozy and the A/C worked wonderful was a great location for us. The front gate on the porch needs work and the bathroom by the bedrooms, door doesn't lock.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Great location near Black Mountain restaurants and shopping, yet very quiet and peaceful setting. Loved the back deck with a table for outdoor dining. The house was as described and the kitchen was well equipped for making breakfast and cooking. Everything worked, was new and clean. We'd stay here again.

Had a great stay here- it was relaxing, comfy, felt like Black Mountain itself!! So welcoming and warm! Loved it!

My husband and I (and our dog) had a great birthday weekend at this cozy cabin in Black Mt. This was our first time here and we really loved the whole experience. The house was clean and comfortable...no complaints. Probably important to know that there is not a dishwasher, but that wasn't a problem for us.

This was a perfect place to stay for a Black Mountain visit.

The location was perfect and nestled in to a lightly wooded area for a bit of privacy while still minutes from great shops and eateries. Very unique home layout. Wonderful back porch my son used to sit and sketch while I did yoga. Front porch with rockers and great view of the gold course.
5.0
The main living room/kitchen area is a very nice space, the back and front porches are comfortable, the views incredible, the bedrooms and bathrooms up to the same standard. All that could be seen from the listing but the quality of life in the town was the real surprise with restaurants, museums, hiking.
5.0
We enjoyed our stay, especially the fireplace and porches. Only thoughts are that the showers were very slippery, and because the construction is still going on, we used the front porch more than the back...until the construction is over, it would be nice to have the Adirondack chairs on the front porch instead of the back. I agree with the history comment -- would have loved to learn the history of the cabin.
5.0
It was very rustic but that's what we like. We would have appreciated it if the owner would have included the history of the cabin on the property, even if it might not have originated there and was later moved to the site.
We had very rainy weather so couldn't enjoy the porch.

We had the best stay for for my husbands birthday in Black Mountain. We traveled with our 10 month old and the home could not have been more perfect. It’s such a cool place!! Perfect location across from the golf course, walking distance to the park and a quick drive to town. Can’t wait to come back!

We stayed for a few days recently and loved this cabin. Spacious, nicely stocked, and very comfortable. And when our plans got rained out one day, we enjoyed a lazy relaxing day around the gas fireplace.
Just minutes from downtown Black Mountain, where we found great restaurants, breweries, and shopping. And a 5 minute walk to the nearby park for walking the dog, fishing and hanging out. And Black Mountain itself seems to be 20-30 minutes from everything we wanted to do... Asheville, Mt Mitchell, Chimney Rock.
Fabulous stay... we'll likely be back for a longer visit.

We chose this location to be close to Montreat where I was taking a week-long class. The house was clean and very cozy. The fireplace in the evenings was an added bonus! Only gave 4 stars because of construction next door.

Ursa Minor was simply AWESOME!!! Not a single issue or problem. Communication with renter was great and the cabin is beautiful. Both front and back porches are great for morning coffee, evening adult beverages, games, or just hanging out. Beds were very comfortable and fireplace is easy to use. Most Highly Recommended!

Great rental, needs more attention on grounds outside, very messy. Not enough toilet tissue for stay, had to purchase more. Needs dishwasher for this class of rental.
Great four days, Thanks!

Enjoyed our stay here. Everything was nice and updated. Very clean and quaint. Had everything that we needed. Pet friendly was a bonus. Nice location across from the golf course. Close to town of Black Mountain. Could walk but there are no sidewalks on streets. Overall would recommend this place and would stay here again!

This a great property! Loved the location and natural surroundings. Great place for rest and reflection; and remote work. Cabin has a lot of character and is equipped with cable, internet, laundry and a gas fireplace. I hope to be back soon!

Super cute house
Loved our stay in Black Mountain. The house is perfect, exactly as described, had everything we needed, was clean and tidy and very comfortable. I feel like the owners have put thought into providing a ‘home from home’.
The two porches front and back are great. Plenty of off road space to park. We had our dogs with us and in the evenings we could all sit outdoors as there were gates to keep the dogs in and safe. The front porch looks right out into the golf course and the mountains as a backdrop, it’s beautiful.
It wasn’t as relaxing as we had hoped due to the construction next door which woke us up early every morning, but that was the only thing we didn’t enjoy. I would recommend and stay again.

Property is charming and presents as a log cabin in the woods. Kitchen well stocked. Nice bathrooms and decks overlooking the road and golf course. Several pieces of furniture were not cleaned fully and we found an abundance of cobwebs everywhere. Beds also were too soft and not very comfortable save one small bed of the 4. Circadia killer huge bees everywhere as well which is a little daunting but they kept to themselves. AC not working very well so we opened all the windows and enjoyed the lovely breezes. Sitting on the front porch was nice with the breezes and wine. One more caveat is the house Nextdoor is under what seems like constant construction with 6 large trucks and a good amount of noise and smell starting at 8 am. Would not stay here again.
