The hotel is located within a short walk to a good public beach and also a large supermarket. The American Village is a 20min walk away. The room was a good size, with a large comfy bed and excellent pillows. Nice view of the sea with great sunsets. Small pool on the roof - good for keeping cool but not large enough to swim. Good balcony to sit and watch the sunset. Free use of washing machines and driers.
The rooms are not serviced at all during your stay. You have to take rubbish and recycling down to reception yourself. The roof pool does not have any shade so it gets very hot during the day.

Hotel facilities, cleanness and staff are great. The staff especially! Super kind and caring, always smiling and also really good at communicating in English. Hotel rooms, beds and pillows are very comfortable and AC works really well. Having a room with the sea view made it all more magic too, as the colors at both sunset and sunrise are really special.
The only reason why I didn’t give the highest score for location is because chatan is very close to the American Village, which doesn’t feel truly authentic. Though this is just a small detail and it has nothing to do with the quality levels of the hotel. Also, chatan is a really good location to explore the rest of the island because it’s kind in the middle so it’s easy to go both south and north from there.

Good location - close to the beach with life guard, beach shacks with coffee, pizza etc
Rooftop pool is nice.
It's supposed to be a 4* hotel and rooms are not cleaned for stays under 7 days :/ we stayed 6 nights...
My partner lost a physical Key to our room and was charged 450 Australian dollars (!), which is a lot in Australia, and in Japan it's an overly excessive fee for just changing a lock at the door, which is a 10-15 minute job.
Also, we stayed at many Airbnbs and hotels in Japan before this one, and it's the only one that doesn't have keycards or another type of electronic door-lock system... It's 2026 - time to upgrade (?)
Same when I needed an iron and ironing board - needed to pick it up by myself from downstairs - which is not an big deal but again - it's should be 4* hotel and idea of the stay was to unwind and relax.
