About this house rental
Situated in Folly Beach, this charming house for $391 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Reservations will receive $250 credit toward beach gear rentals! *applies for stays 3-14 nights only * BR 1: 1 King, BR 2: 1 Queen, BR 3: Twin Bunk Beds, LR: 1 Sleeper Sofa, 1 Futon, Sleeps: 8, 2nd Row, Short walk to the Beach, Gas Grill, Folly Beach The Folly Barrack House has a spacious king master bedroom with twin size daybed and full private bath and smaller kids room with twin bunk beds. Living room has double sofa sleeper. Galley style kitchen with plenty of cabinets and counter space. Kitchen is fully equipped including extras such as a blender, toaster, and mixer. All rooms have LCD cable T.V. with HBO and Starz in main den/sun room area as well as a Blu-Ray player. Very open floor plan with lots of natural light. Sun room also has a double size sofa sleeper for that extra person that tags along. Beach access just across the street and beach view from the den/sunroom. Second bathroom just off the living room. Split level decks off of the sun room. Large yard with plenty of parking for all. Plenty of room for a boat and the boat landing is just 11 blocks from the house. The Sea Shed was built under the Folly Barrack House in the 1950's. Brick and block walls were once home to one of Folly's infamous key clubs that entertained many locals and celebrities alike. Today we have transitioned her into a sweet one bedroom apartment that is steps away from the beach. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a special meal and a quaint bathroom separates the main room from the bedroom. This is included in your rental! The whole house is yours! Downtown Charleston is a short 25-minute drive away. There you will be immersed in history, fashionable boutiques, souvenir and local markets, world-class restaurants, live entertainment, and carriage, history, harbor, ghost, and food tours. Take a stroll along The Battery, Waterfront Park, and Rainbow Row. Visit the Children's Museum and the South Carolina Aquarium. Float on a ferry to Fort Sumpter where you can spend a whole afternoon. Large parking area for up to 6 vehicles. Amenities include keyless entry, contactless check-in, TVs, free WIFI and cable, central heat and air, VayK Gear beach gear credit, washer/dryer, modern appliances, and a gas grill. Home is non-smoking and not pet friendly. Must be 25 years old or older to rent, no exceptions. No events or parties allowed that exceed the maximum occupancy of the home. Property has 24/7 on-call emergency maintenance services. Please contact us if you have any questions. We hope to be hosting you on Folly Beach very soon! Beach renourishment is expected to begin in March 2024. During this time, areas of the beach may be temporarily closed and/or impacted. Public beach accesses can be found at nearly every block and/or half block up and down the island. We are not responsible for any beach disruptions caused by the renourishment. We had a great time at Barrack House. The space and amenities were just what we wanted. The kids liked the private apartment to hang out in and there was plenty of space to spread out in the main level. The party lights in the middle area were a favorite and the available Slam Ball was a bonus. The proximity to the beach was super convenient. And kicking back with a drink on the deck was always relaxing.

We enjoyed our stay on Folly Beach and the house was okay. It was very different than we have ever rented. The additions to the house was very innovative however, they would be a little more safe if the floors were level. Stepping from the main house down to the front living room was very slippery. Dealing with the spiders in the house, the geckos in the side of the house and a snake outside was a little more than we expected on our family vacation. The location was wonderful just across the street from the beach and the property has a lot of parking area.

Our stay here was simply wonderful. Our family has been coming to Folly for 20 years for vacation. By far, the is was cleanest place we have ever stayed! Location was amazing!! And the property managers were quick to respond to the questions I had and were super kind!! Definitely will be back!

Great location and very comfortable. The outside could use a bit of TLC, but that by no means takes away from the comfortable and at home feeling inside.

We had our family of four as well as my mother in the Barracks House. We did have to share rooms but were all very comfortable. You can't beat this location. Walk across the street to the beach! And the decks were perfect for grilling and hanging out in the evenings. Kitchen was well stocked. There were plenty of towels and the master bathroom was very nice. There are bikes at the house. I missed that in another review and rented some unfortunately. The house also had beach chairs and boogie boards which was a great bonus! We would definitely return to the Barracks House!

Great Stay for a small family
We had our family of four as well as my mother in the Barracks House. We did have to share rooms but were all very comfortable. You can't beat this location. Walk across the street to the beach! 2nd Stay at Barracks House
Family loves staying at this beach house. Location has very little traffic and easy access to beach. Plenty of beach space for family to have fun. Easy to walk to downtown and pier. House is perfect for for our 3 young boys. Bikes, beach chairs, outside shower, hose, and new BBQ are all great features.

Great First Beach House Experience
This was our first beach house experience. We were excited to attend our son’s beach wedding on Folly Beach. Folly Barrack House really met our need. The bedding and the towels were abundant and very clean. The outdoor shower came in handy. The owner was a great communicator and responded quickly to all of our questions .

Great Pearl
This was one of my best finds on the internet. This pearl gave me and my grandson, granddaughter, daughter, son and son-in-law a great time. Special one-on-one time was had with my grandson as he was able to stay with me the entire time.

Great location!
The Barrack House was a great place to stay for our family vacation. Lots of space, well equipped with all the necessities, and only steps to the beach. We will definitely book again in the future! The owners were very nice and quick to respond to all of our questions.

Folly Barrack House
Great week at Folly Barrack House and Folly Beach! Great location with easy access to the beach and an easy bike ride to the center of town. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The HBO and Starz were an added bonus! If I could make one recommendation it would be put an additional light source in the master bath that does not include turning the fan on (it is quite loud). But we look forward to our next visit to this bit of paradise!

Great Home with Easy Beach Access!
My husband and our 4 year old son had a fantastic time at the Folly Barrack House over Easter weekend! The location was great - about 1.5 miles from the “town center” with beach access across the street! We have not been to Folly Beach during peak season, but imagine having such easy beach access would be key! We had a blast riding bikes back and forth from restaurants and Bert’s Market. The house was very clean upon arrival and we had plenty of space to relax. The shower in the master bathroom is awesome and the beds were comfortable with plenty of linens (my son loved the bunk beds!). We only cooked one meal over the 4-day weekend, but it seemed like the kitchen was stocked with most everything you’d need. There is a tenant in the apartment below, but she was very nice and we did not hear her at all. Rodney (owner) and his family were great to work with and are close by — we felt like we could call or text if we needed anything. I hope we can come back and stay at the Barrack House again!

This has to be my favorite beach trip ever with my family!! It was all because of the house and it’s location! I do not have anything to complain about! The owner was great and helpful with whatever we needed! We will be back next year for sure!!

Great stay, again!
This was our second trip, and it was just as nice as the first! We love the house and the location! The beach access that is visible from the house was being repaired; however, there is another beach access almost as close to the right of the house. The house itself is always clean, always well-stocked.

Very relaxing!
The place was wonderful! The beach is a short walk just across the street. Such a relaxing place. Just 4 of us stayed but there would have been room for a few more if we had a larger family. I really enjoyed our stay.

Great location and some recent upgrades, but the permanent renters downstairs had a pit bull
The permanent renters had a pit bull that constantly ran up on us when we stepped outside. Roof also had leaks in the den when it rained.

Perfect family beach house!
My husband and I, along with our 17 month old son, had a great experience here the first week in April. The house was incredibly clean and toddler friendly - it reminded us of houses our families would rent when we were kids. The kitchen has everything you need and the beach is a very, very short walk away. Highly recommend this place and we hope to be back soon!

Great Beach Getaway
My husband and I booked the Folly Barrack House last minute, the owners were very accommodating and the check in and out process was a breeze. The house has a large patio that is great for relaxing! It is right next to a beach access, which they were remodeling during our stay, but I'm sure it will be open soon. We didn't realize there is a couple who lives in the ground floor unit, but honestly we barely even noticed them, there were no disruptions at all. We loved that it was far away enough from the main strip but not a long drive when leaving Folly! Also, the master bedroom and bath remodels were great!
