Great stop before hitting the Redwoods. Clean, beautifully decorated and large rooms

Here's my dilemma; The house was ok, but we had a nearly catastrophic issue. I booked this house for my wife and 4 of my elders to stay. When we arrived my aunt pointed out the downstairs bathtub wasn't clean and had a lot of hair in it and the floors in the kitchen were dirty. I thought she was being picky, but then another member pulled back the covers to find a lot and I'm not meaning 1 or 2 I mean like a lot a hair and debris all over the sheets and pillows. This led to everyone checking and I had to take pictures as every single bed had this issue. It took everything I had to keep them in the house as they wanted to leave and not deal with changing sheets and washing. I explained this to the owner and they apologized immediately. I explained my theory was the cleaning crew either overloaded the washer for all sheets to be covered like this or the washing machine may need to be changed out. Either way it's hard because all of us felt gross staying here and were not able to relax as everyone was then looking for every little thing wrong like the stairs not being to code (guessing) because the steps are not all the same height to the flooring not being finished in all areas with trim. I'm not going to destroy the owner with a 1- rating because that's what I felt like at the time listening to everyone go nuts on me for booking such a "gross" place, but I truly believe this was a one off and hope they work things out with the cleaning crew to change. We had two families, both with younger children staying in the home. There was plenty of space and the home was well equipped. The owner was great at communicating with us with anything that came up. The only thing I wish I had known before booking is that the house is right off of the 101 highway. I was looking for a more residential area, but as far as convenience of location you really can't beat it.

Crescent City is a launching pad for exploring the redwoods and northern CA/southern Oregon beaches. We were perfectly located staying in this home to do both. The yard was fantastic, the interior beautiful, comfortable and super quiet. We absolutely would stay here again and are already recommending to friends. Six stars.

I came on a road trip with my children and we enjoyed this house along. I was debating to stay closer to the ocean but so glad I went with this place. You cannot beat the location it is SO close to everything. The host was great in communication and offering suggestions. I plan to return again in the future

Very nice older home in downtown Crescent City. It has new features and was very comfortable. We visited in early April and needed the heaters and pellet stove - they were very easy to use. Everything worked well and it was our favorite house of the trip! Owner was very responsive and helpful.

We were nicely surprised at how detailed the property, to all of the little perks/gestures that makes you feel like you are at home. Snack tray, coffee supplies, laundry detergent, plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. They thought of everything that you could want or might need! We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Marshawn has thought of everything. I normally find myself critiquing the homes I rent to find the missing items or things I would have done differently. I couldn't find a single aspect of this rental I would have changed. In fact, I took note of several features I want to incorporate into my own home (like the shoe tree stand in the entry/mudroom). Especially in the kitchen, there were many utensils and appliances I didn't even know I would have wanted but that were clearly curated over time. Everything was there. I've stayed in dozens of VRBOS from Mill Valley, California to Washington DC, and Vancouver, Canada, and none were as well equipped as this rental. For example, I had four down pillows in my bedroom downstairs, two were firm, and two were soft. Perfect.
The place was also, immaculately clean, Marshawn's responses to my texts were timely and his communication was excellent throughout our stay. I was there exploring the redwoods with family from Minnesota and they appreciated all of the smart home features incorporated into the home. What a stately craftsman in downtown Crescent City close to Safeway and several restaurants. Thank you, Marshawn for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

We travel as a group frequently & this house is one of the best homes I have stayed in when it comes to planned comfort. It was sparkling clean and had everything you might need. This home is not in a suburban neighborhood. It is centrally located within walking distance of many shopping and service locations. The whole experience was a breeze & we were so happy there we would have stayed longer if the home had more availability. Charming & quirky, modern and vintage, it was exactly what they stated it would be.

Manager wonderful to deal with, way enough space for the family,comfortable house, overall a wonderful house and experiance... Needs some of the little things fixed.. Back screen door, Windows, shelves with screws showing. That would make it a even better experiance. But overall it was a wonderful place to stay I would highly recommend... Felt Very at home...

A beautifully updated classic home in Crescent City, and the absolute perfect spot for exploring Jedidiah Smith Park. Clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. Can't suggest it enough.

Great Redwoods Spot
We stayed here to visit Jedidiah Smith and the location couldn’t have been better. Communication with the property manager was excellent as well.

Older quirky house. We loved it!
Great updates to older house. Kids loved the laundry shoot. I was concerned about the hotel next door, but it was not an issue at all! Nice backyard and deck. Kitchen well stocked and plenty of towels. GREAT communication with Marshawn. House on a busy street so you do hear traffic noise from inside. Walked to grocery store and Dutch Bros. Cute Crescent City Spot
We stayed one night and the house was perfectly adequate for our needs. A cute mix of old and new. Traffic out front was constant and loud, but I should have done better research on the location.

The house itself is so comfortable and has everything- many amenities and supplies are already there for guests to use- so much more than what we’ve had at other VRBO properties. When I accidentally left our rental car lights on overnight, the neighbors alerted Marshawn and he went above and beyond to try to alert us as well to help us find some one to help jump start the car. I simply can’t recommend him or this home enough. We had a wonderful stay. We will be back if we are in the northwest again!!!

The kitchen was a good size and the dining room table had plenty of seats for us to all enjoy breakfast together. There was a nice selection of coffee and snacks left for us which we appreciated. We stayed during a cold rainy week but the space heaters and stove in the living room heated the house quickly. When we had a question Marshawn called us immediately and was quick to answer. The house is right on Hwy101 so there is a bit of traffic noise but other than that it's quiet. We were really happy with the location for our vacation to the Redwoods. One of the visitor centers was just a few minutes away where we picked up maps and were given lots of good information for hikes in the Redwoods. You're also just about 20 minutes away from Jedediah State Park which was just amazing and so beautiful! We also went up into Oregon which is just about 30 minutes away and stopped at so many beautiful coastal overlooks and beaches. We would highly recommend staying here and hope we get to come back someday!

Great stay!
The host knew we were celebrating my daughter’s 16th birthday and had balloons and a few celebratory items on the table, with a card for her. It was so touching and made her day extra special. This special act is not the only reason I gave this place such a high rating, it was beautiful and clean. We all adored our stay. Thai food around the corner was fabulous, Dutch bros in diagonal, walk to the beach, and more. Highly recommended!
