My brother and father were coming from New York and instead of getting 2 separate hotels I decided to give this great apartment try and it was perfect. Bottom line would i use this location and host again? Absolutely. 5 stars in my book.

Location was great. Bathroom needs major renovation and kitchen was pretty bare. Has great potential just needs some TLC.

We stayed overnight and arrived late. There is no photo of the outside of the house on listing. It is a brick house surrounded by overgrown bushes and weeds growing over sidewalk in front. No working outdoor lights either. Turn on your flashlight in cell phone. A yellow jacket pest problem in kitchen lots of dead bees under sink and flying around. I contacted owner who would have an exterminator out but not until next day. I was just looking for a can of Raid! Radiator in back bedroom did not work so it was chilly in that room. There is a very small bathroom. Also the harder floors could use a Swiffer run over them. Lots of dust bunnies under the master bedroom bed. The headboards shown in photos are not there anymore either.

I drove to Charles Town from Massachusetts and we arrived around 10pm. I messaged the owner who responded right away that late arrival was fine. When my daughters & I arrived the house had no lights on inside or outside & the shrubbery was all over grown. We couldn't see the number on the front of the house & had to look it up on Google Street view to confirm (every other housebhas lights on, it wasn't a power issue) Feeling unsure because the lights were out I messages the owner & told them. He responded quickly to park in the back and go up the steps and the door would be right there. I parked & used my phones flashlight to walk up the stairs but found the door to the apartment OPEN.... not unlocked.... physically open. I immediately went back to my vehicle & messaged the owner & got no response. I messaged again asking if I should call the police & got not no response. I then called VRBO from my phone & 911 from my daughters phone. 5 officers responded & searched the property. They were then able to lock the property. I did not feel safe staying at the property and had to get a hotel room for the 3 nights instead. I messaged the owner again & didn't get a response until the following day. After several calls to VRBO for a refund, including 1 three-way call where the owner hung up & wouldn't answer again, the owner refused to give me a full refund and only offered 50%. I now have a case open with VRBO to get my full refund.

This place went beyond our expectations. Bigger than the pictures made it seem and absolutely loved that the place was an old home but made to make you feel very comfortable. We loved staying here

This property was very nice. Right on the main strip in Charlestown. We easily walked downtown or to the casino. It was also a great home base for all the wineries the region has to offer. The beds were very comfortable and the window AC worked well. It wasn’t an issue for us but because the apartment was on the main road there was a lot of traffic noise. Could be an issue for those in the front bedroom if they are light sleepers. Only other suggestion is to put chairs on the back porch. Would definitely stay again.
