At first it feels a bit scary at night, thinking you are staying where the old owners used to live more than 100 years ago. But it's a wonderful experience that you can't find anywhere else. Then when the sun rises you can totally feel the peaceful, fresh and somehow nostalgic atmosphere.
If you have time, it's worth walking around the area too. Everyone is friendly and say hi to you.

This is a beautiful old traditional house, full to the brim with books. The hosts are super kind and helpful, and the atmosphere was amazing. It was one of the best experiences of my stay in Japan!

Yoshi and Mayuko were great hosts! The place is really cosy, clean and full of history. It's 30 minutes by walk and train to the center of Matsuyama and really close by ferry to the peaceful Gogoshima island.
Perfect for a couple looking to relax outside the city.
