Situated in Kill Devil Hills, this attractive house for $551 per night is a great choice for your next trip. As an elementary school Principal, I know how valuable vacations are! Look no further than this freshly renovated sparkling clean coastal cottage, as it is the perfect getaway for you and your family! Our location is one of the absolute best walkable areas on the main island as you can safely walk to the beach, coffee shops, and restaurants with one of the few stoplights for safe crossing. Great indoor and outdoor spaces for activities, relaxation, and quality time with family and friends! We are a very short 6 min walk to the ocean. We have multiple Smart TV's with internet access, propane grills, outdoor and indoor dining, a grill and bar area for when it rains, multiple balconies and sitting areas, a beautiful hot tub, and a large fully fenced in backyard. We hope our guests enjoy their time in OBX and make unforgettable memories! Ground Level: Under the carport is a grill, bar, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Then, you will walk right into our game room consisting of a foosball table and new washer and dryer are also located here. First Level: Living/Dining/Kitchen, 1 Full Bath, 1 King Bedroom, attached deck with outdoor dining, seating, and grilling. Second Level: Open-air Entertainment Space with couch and TV, Bunkroom with 4 Twin Beds, and another bedroom with 1 Queen Bed with access to a private deck, 1 Full Jack and Jill style Bath. *See our House Guide and Recommendations at arrival.* NOTE: The gas fireplace has been disconnected and is not available for guest use. This is a safety measure for us and our guests. Please consider the backyard firepit.

We had a great stay. The property was clean, was within minutes to the beach (walking) and everything as stated in the listing. Our only recommendation for the owners is to add some food storage containers. One of our reasons for using a VRBO is that we can prepare some of our own food while on vacation. Would stay again!

The house was a nice short walk to the beach but the fence had many gaps and would not contain our small dog. We were not able to utilize the back yard. Grass had not been cut for a very long time when we arrived and was very very tall.

We had a great stay at the property! It is walking distance to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed the fire pit and hammocks as well!

Hugo’s hideaway was an amazing cottage to experience the Outer Banks for the first time. We enjoyed the comfort of home, nighttime fires and soaks in the hot tub. We did have to drive to the beach because we don’t travel light for the day at the ocean. Overall we had a great vacation!

Property was very conveniently located with plenty of things within walking distance including the beach. Nice neighborhood location breakfast was always the easiest with Dunkin’s less than a 5 mins walk. Fenced yard made for easy trip for our dog too. Hot tub was a great way to unwind after the day

I took this trip as sort of a “chemo moon” for my dog Benji. He had never seen the ocean or been able to run free in the sand, but we can’t say that any more! Both Benji and I and my parents loved our stay here. Huge bonus was the fenced in back yard which made bringing my dog extra easy. The house was very clean and well stocked with items that we needed for a comfortable stay. The shower pressure in the upstairs bathroom is AMAZING and the towels were nice and fluffy. Just an overall wonderful stay. Would recommend this place to anyone!

We had a awesome mini vacation. The property was exactly how advertised. House was very clean and our dogs loved the back yard to run an play.. my only suggestion would be that to add some dish clothes we did not have anything to wash the dishes with. Besides that everything was great!!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Not only is beach access close and convenient, you also walk right by a wonderful coffee shop on your way there. The house itself has everything you could need for a relaxing time, and a perfect layout for multiple people. The owners clearly put care into the details. The backyard was perfect for my dog, who had the time of his life even when we weren't on the beach. I would recommmend this rental to families or groups of friends who want a clean, nicely maintained place to stay while in OBX.

Loved having the backyard and enjoyed the swings on the porch! Very close to the beach. The walk wasn’t bad at all although you do have to cross over a busy street. Awesome coffee shop right around the corner, we stopped in everyday!

Great place and close to plenty! Walk to beach, coffee and get to activities/testa easily. Neighborhood is friendly and traffic is slow/considerate for walks, skateboarding and riding bikes. Wonderful experience.

Brian was very quick on responding to my inquiries. We had to look for something while all ready at the OBX. I had a place rented in Corolla that wasn't represented properly. We were very grateful to find such a cute little place on such short notice. The beach is a very short walk. The neighborhood is very quiet and seems safe. There is a beach cart there to help with carrying your things. I also liked the fenced in back yard as well as the large hot tub. Thanks again Brian for letting us stay on a moments notice.

We had a great stay and had no real issues with the property. Check in / out was easy, pictures were still accurate of the property (only thing we were confused by was the description led us to believe the hot tub had been installed somewhere not under the house as in the photos, but that’s still where it is). Kitchen well stocked in terms of cups / bowls / cooking items. Very easy walk to the beach and multiple shops / restaurants.

We had a great time on our trip. The property was nice, the hot tub was great, and we can't wait to go back to OBX. The house is very conveniently located within reasonable distance from all attractions, and Brian was a great and responsive host. Would love to visit again "in season"!

Aside from the house being clean and conveniently located to everything my family needed (yay!), the neighborhood felt safe and that was important to me. Our dog got out the first night and once the neighbors realized this, they were quick to start a search party to help find him. Great community!

Great location not far from the beach. Nice, quiet neighborhood perfect for walking our pups. Do need to cross the bypass and beach road to get to beach, but there is convenient access to crosswalks for both. Coffee shop and a few restaurants and other shops are within walking distance too. Everything well maintained other than a few minor things that owner had already let us know about. House was clean, but there was some hidden chocolate in the sofa which one of our dogs discovered, so we did clean one of the cushion covers (washer and dryer worked well!). Yard has solid fence, but need to watch out for sand burrs (they're unavoidable/seem to be in every patch of grass throughout OBX). Hot tub was a pleasant surprise. Lovely home. Had a wonderful, relaxing week there.

Wasn’t able to actually stay at the property, due to the fact after I made the reservation the property was sold to the current owner. He called and was willing to honor the reservation and his communication was great, however the price was not the prior price I was willing to pay. So I chose not to stay. HOWEVER, owner is a great communicator.

We stay at Hugo's Hideaway Aug 12th -16th, 2021. Communications with Brian was extremely easy and it felt like I was talking to a friend, true North Carolina Hospitality at its best!! We were pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of the house. We really enjoyed the easy walk to the beach and the Beach Chairs, blankets and cart that were provided as it made our trips to the beach so much easier than carrying everything. It is centrally located to many different activities and we were able to enjoy not only the beautiful beach, but the Wright Brothers Memorial Park, the Dunes, as well as miniature golf, go karts (Just down the street), and we even ventured to Nags Head for the First Flight Adventures Rope Course. The one and only rainy day we went to the Aquarium in Manteo.

We really enjoyed our time at Hugo's Hideaway. It was our first time to the Outer Banks and we found the place to be just what we needed. The place was very clean and was comfortable. Brian had good notes and instructions for anything we might have had questions about. We enjoyed daily walks to the path along the sound, to the ocean side beach and local restaurants. It's also centrally located for both day trips to Duck/Corolla, and also to Wright Brother Monument and the Alligator River National Refuge. We hope to be back!
