A beautiful and modern hotel in the heart of Skellefteå. It’s a five-minute walk to the bus station. Rooms are spacious, very clean and quiet, with a fantastic view of the city. Breakfast is absolutely spectacular, so make sure you come hungry.
The spa is a little underwhelming, being on the small side, but still very pleasant.

We came to Skellefteå for a wedding, but we really enjoyed spending a few days here beforehand. One of the things we loved most about the hotel was the family room. The separate spaces made it very comfortable for us, and our son had plenty of space to move around and explore. The floor-to-ceiling windows in both the bedroom and the seating area gave us two beautiful views to enjoy.
A lovely touch was the little gift bag our son received at check-in, complete with a cuddly toy—it was such a sweet surprise and made him feel especially welcome from the moment we arrived.
The Scandinavian breakfast was another highlight. There was such a great selection, and we got to enjoy it for three mornings, which was a lovely way to start each day.
We also really enjoyed the dining options. On our first night, we had dinner at Mandel, where we tried moose and reindeer. Everything was so tasty, and these are dishes we don’t often get to enjoy in Stockholm, which made the experience even more special.
On our second night, we ate at Miss Voon. We didn’t realize there is also a Miss Voon in Stockholm! The food was delicious. It was on the more expensive side, but we felt it was absolutely worth it.
We also ordered pizza from Paolo’s to enjoy in our room, and it was really yummy—a perfect option for a relaxed afternoon.
We also loved having a library just downstairs—it was such a lovely and cozy space to have right there in the hotel.
Overall, we had a wonderful time in Skellefteå and really enjoyed both the hotel and the experiences around the city. It was a great way to make the most of the days before the wedding.
On the more disappointing side, we were a little sad that we couldn’t enjoy the spa together as a family. After the summer period, children under 13 are not allowed to use the pool. We completely understand that there may be rules around the spa, but we feel there could be some exceptions, especially for families travelling from far away and staying at the hotel.
We also felt that our room could have used a little more attention. There were some dusty areas, which was a bit disappointing considering the price per night. We were also expecting to find the puzzle books and DVDs mentioned as being available in the room, but unfortunately, these were not there.
Another small issue was the iron. It wasn’t powerful enough and there was no option to add water, which made it difficult to properly iron a suit. Perhaps investing in better-quality irons with a steam function would be a nice improvement.
These are relatively small things, but addressing them would make the overall experience even better, especially for families and guests paying a premium rate.

It was a cool concept, and it was right next to shopping malls and streets. Cleaning was good.
There was poor airconditioning in the top floors. Air felt really heavy. The rooms were cold, especially at night. Woke me up many times. Bathroom felt like stepping on ice. We went to turn the heat up in the morning, but when we came back the cleaners had put the temperature down again. Mind you these things take years to heat up. The rooms were pretty small and you have no way of getting fresh air because of the sealed windows. The hotel has no parking, so you have to look for parkings nearby. The reception service was interesting. When we arrived for check-in we asked for late checkout, but the receptionist told us that we had to come back and ask the evening before the last day because that's when they'll know more. On check-out the receptionist almost ignored us and didnt even ask if we had a good stay. The breakfast was very dissappointing. They didnt have much of a selection, and the eggs were extremely overcooked. I dont even think they had milk. Saturday night we wanted to eat at the resturant on the 4th floor, but all of a sudden it was booked as a wedding venue without any notice. All they did was put a couple of printed paper signs outside of the elevators saying Mandel would be appointed today. The rooms were also very little soundproof, especially from outside noise, which also made it hard to get sleep. We picked this hotel over a safer option we've stayed at before because we had high hopes that this one, it being new and all, would be great. We will not be back again.
