Located in Smith Mountain Lake, this lovely cottage for $185 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This delightful cottage is a must-stay for anybody looking for a get away to Smith Mountain Lake! The Hummingbird Cottage is a two-bedroom, one-bath home with 2 queen beds and a queen-size sleeper sofa. It's the perfect retreat for a couple's getaway or a small family escape! The Hummingbird Cottage offers an open floor plan with a living room and an updated kitchen. The kitchen has a large refrigerator and stainless steel appliances. The living room has plenty of seating with a large wrap-around couch, and two chairs that face the wood-burning fireplace. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower. The living room and bedrooms are all equipped with flat-screen HDTVs and Blue-Ray DVD players. Relax near the wood-burning fireplace and watch one of the many movies, play board games, or get lost in a book. Wireless Internet is provided. There are many outdoor spaces to enjoy at the cottage. The deck provides a peaceful, wooded setting to enjoy the views while relaxing or cooking on the gas grill. A gravel, switch-back path leads down to the dock. The dock is a great place to swim, fish, float, and enjoy the sunset. Two kayaks are available for our guests during their stay. The dock is large enough to tie up a boat and jet ski. Electricity is available at the top of the stairs near the dock for recharging boat batteries. Public boat ramps are located at Hale's Ford Marina and Oak Grove- both within 15-20 minutes of the cottage. The Hummingbird Cottage is conveniently located by water and land to many of Smith Mountain Lake's shopping and attractions, including Bridgewater Plaza, local wineries, Smith Mountain Lake State Park, Food Lion grocery store, and the Diamond Hill General Store. All are within 10 to 20 minutes of the cottage. Note: A gravel driveway leads down a hill to the cottage. Boat trailers should not go down the driveway- the turn around area near the cottage is not large enough. Boat and jet ski trailers can be parked at the top of the driveway in the trailer parking area. Please notify owner if you plan to bring a boat/trailer.

Very nice unit. We had some issues with the door codes, but after that was resolved we had a great stay. We didn't have good cell connectivity, but one we were at the top of the driveway, it was fine.

We really enjoyed staying at Hummingbird Cottage. It is a beautiful, clean cottage on a stunning location overlooking the lake. The cottage was very comfortable and well-equipped. The hosts were extremely communicative and made sure that our needs were well-met. We would love to be back!

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at the Hummingbird Cottage. Upon entering, the space smelled so fresh and clean! The home is very cozy, and had everything we needed to enjoy our time at SML! The owners are very responsive and even checked in via the app to make sure we had everything we needed. This is a perfect little place for a romantic and quiet getaway for two. I’ll definitely consider this property for future visits with my husband to the lake. A+

Our family decided to take a last minute trip to SML for my husband’s birthday and we couldn’t be happier that we chose to stay at the Hummingbird Cottage. Taylor made sure we had everything we needed and even checked on us during the stay. The cottage was immaculate! There were many board games to choose from, the kitchen had everything you’d need, and the view was beautiful.We enjoyed taking out the kayaks that were provided, fishing from the pier in the mornings and sitting by the fireplace at night. Would highly recommend The Hummingbird Cottage.

We had a great experience at the hummingbird cottage. Kali and Taylor were super responsive, easy to get a hold of and fast in communication. The cottage is on a very nice cove and we used the kayaks they had. The chairs on the boat dock are great for morning coffee and watching the mist rise from the water. The cottage was nicely furnished and the perfect size for my husband and I. We had a lovely time.

Fantastic little cozy cottage on the lake with private dock. Everything was clean and as-pictured in the listing. The owner was super kind and quick to reply with any questions we had. I do recommend bringing bottled water to drink while there as the iron content is high in the tap water there, but that was no biggie for us :)

Had a great time. House size was perfect for our family (2 adults - 2 young kids). Clean, with enough privacy. Spent most of our time on the dock, hanging out, fishing, and it was also great to have as we rented watercraft on multiple days. Would rent again!

Kali was an amazing host, excellent communication and super flexible with our needs. The cottage was so cute, *clean*, and accommodated my small group of friends. So close to bridgewater plaza, we rented a pontoon boat for cheap from Parrot Cove, which was right across the lake, then enjoyed a cozy night with a fire by the water. Will definitely come back again.

My dog, fiancé, and I had a great time here. It was so peaceful being right on the water. The house is very clean and had everything we needed. Not a lot of grass area for our dog to run around, but he enjoyed laying on the dock! Kali was very responsive and wonderful to work with!

Amazing host and property- The only thing that we would change would be the distance to get to the boat dock. We have an older dog and it was a rough road for her, but of course that is a personal need. Overall, if I could give it 10 stars, I would!!

Hummingbird Cottage was a great getaway in a beautiful vacation home on a lake with a dock for our boat. We loved that we could bring our dog who absolutely loves the water! It was very clean & organized & very comfortable & the owner was very quick to respond to any questions that we had. It is a steep walk to the dock but other than that we all really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Kali! We enjoyed making memories to last a lifetime in your beautiful home!

Me and my husband stayed at the Hummingbird Cottage for our Anniversary and had a wonderfully relaxing stay. The Cottage is located at the end of the cove, so it was very peaceful. We had so much fun kayaking and playing games on the balcony. We plan on booking again and bringing our children. It's a beautiful place to make memories.

Excellent communication by owner and easy access to check-in. The cottage is right down the road from food lion and the cove is very close to a good boat launch. The cottage was adorable and spacious. The bedrooms were set up nice with functional space for personal items without clutter. The kitchen was well stocked as was the laundry station and bathroom. This getaway is exactly as described and is even cuter in person. We definitely hope to revisit this charming cottage!! Thanks for a great experience! John and Shana Canada

Homeowners were wonderful. Property clean and well stocked.Home was cozy. But home was on a very steep grade to get to the lake.Ended up being treacherous for us older people. Also there was no yard or road to walk on. That was disappointing especially for walking the dog. We were unable to walk outside anywhere on the property.But it was a nice getaway for a week.

My wife and I really enjoyed this little cottage on the lake. It’s tucked back in cove where the water stays calm but is close to several eating places and shops that we went to by boat. The cottage was quaint, clean, and well kept. Kali the owner was very responsive to messages and accommodating. We would recommend the hummingbird cottage for peaceful spot on the lake.
