Located in Balboa Island, this lovely house for $200 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Super cute apartment above the garage of the Blue Door Cottage. WINTER SPECIAL Rent Friday & Saturday and stay 1 extra night free (Sunday or Thursday) except for Boat parade, Christmas or New Years eve week. This bright and airy unit has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, and a really large living area with both a sofa and a love seat with lots of windows. There is a small dining table for two, a coffee bar and an outdoor area with a bistro table to enjoy your morning coffee, or a glass of wine with the sunset. The patio also has a chair and ottoman so you can recline and read a good book while getting some afternoon sun or roll the shade down for privacy. The unit is a few steps away from the bayfront and the boardwalk and a 2 minute walk to Marine Ave, the shops, restaurants, Irvine market and a Balboa Bar / Chocolate covered banana at Dad's or the Sweet Life. Come enjoy a quiet relaxing stay at the Blue Door Suite, wake up enjoy coffee on the patio, enjoy a sunrise walk arround the Island, then spend the day exploring Balboa Island and take the famous Auto Ferry across the bay to enjoy Newport Beach. Access to the unit is through the alley and parking is on the street. The garage is for the use of the Blue Door Cottage but there is plenty of parking on Park Ave, Abalone or Crystal Ave for the apartment.

A very cozy and clean beach getaway! The location on Balboa Island is ideal. Very close to the shops and restaurants. The host, Peter, was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

We were in the area for a regatta and this place was adorable, perfectly located and so easy to be in - the treats/snacks were such a great touch. We are thinking about coming back soon just so we can stay here again. Thank you to Pete for making it so magical.

Great little upstairs apartment, well supplied and excellent location. Peter was fabulous and welcoming . Some workers were making construction noise on Saturday near me and he was right on it reminding them of Newport Beach rules.

Outstanding accommodations! Perfect location on Balboa Island. Just steps from the bay and a few minutes walk to restaurants and grocery. Very clean. The kitchen is handy and there is ample space in rooms. Pete is extremely helpful and makes the rental experience very easy! Highly recommended.

We came to relax after a busy vacation, and to enjoy the boat light parade, great location. If you don't mind close neighbors and hard to find parking (most likely just this time of year) this is the great place. It is supplied with almost everything you can think of.

My husband and I went to celebrate his 60th Birthday. Peter was amazing from start to finish! He made sure we were able to get in with no issues. He set up a super cute basket with treats and a birthday card and champagne and cheese in the fridge. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in and Balboa Island is amazing! Peter suggested a few restaurants for my husbands birthday dinner and it was perfect! Would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I booked The Blue Door Bungalo during a family reunion for extra space. It exceeded our expectations in every way. We have never stayed in a vrbo before and was concerned about the check-in process, communication, and overall stay. Peter was proactive and organized, answering all of my questions before I could even ask them. My husband is very tall and I was concerned that the bungalow might be too tight but it was perfect for us and extremely comfortable. The bungalow is charming and we felt right at home. I was pleased to see that our home away from home was immaculate. Additionally, Peter's hospitality was impressive. We had the perfect weekend get-away and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My new hubby and I chose to spend the last leg of our Honeymoon adventure here, and really enjoyed our time. Pete was great with communication and even provided a list of recommendations for our visit at Balboa Island. I describe myself as an adventurous homebody, thus having a cozy place to rest my head at the end of a day of exploring is super important, and we felt right we home here.

Pete is such a wonderful host and very responsive. The place is very clean, inviting cozy and everything are well organized in small space. Easy to park on the street and so quick, 5 mins walk to go to many restaurants, grocery store or get good coffee & pastries. You will relax to watch sunrise or sunset at ocean in 1/2 block walk. Highly recommended to stay the blue door bungalow if you are solo traveler to relax your mind in this busy world.

This is an adorable, classic Balboa Island apartment. It is immaculate, comfortable and was the perfect spot for me to revisit the area where I grew up. The blue and white 'beachy' theme is carried throughout and there are quality sheets and plenty towels. I was met with delicious wine, coffee and snacks which were a welcome surprise. I loved everything about my stay. I have rented large and small rentals in many locations and a few countries. Pete is by far my most favorite host. He made checking in easy with photos and instructions. He also checked in with me to see if I had everything I needed at the apartment or if I needed any local tips. He helped to make me feel part of the neighborhood. Thank you so much!

The apartment was super cute and comfortable for our beach getaway. It was easy to find and there was plenty of street parking, even for summer. It was well stocked with essentials and more. You will love the location to main street or the ferry to the peninsula, The "welcome treats" were a fun surprise. 10 out of 10!

As mentioned in prior reviews this spot is ideal for a single guest and may work for two people as the bedroom layout is more conducive to one guest. The place is well laid out and the owner was excellent in his preparedness, concern and responsiveness. The place does lack AC but the fans worked fine. Well worth the cost.

Ultimate place for a relaxing break. Very clean classic place in a beautiful quiet Balboa Island neighborhood. Attention to detail and amenities inside the unit were far superior than expected. A few min walk to restaurants, shops and art galleries. Will def be back.

Looked for a a little weekend getaway. This place is great if you plan on staying local. We walked everywhere since parking can be tricky. It get’s crowded but it’s a nice place to visit. Quick ride on the ferry and you’re at the beach. The owners were very responsive and helpful with tips on what to do in area. They also put out some snacks and drinks for us which was awesome! Recommend
