Location, it is right in the middle of a street with shops, restaurants and across from Beach park access! The remodeled rooms are in amazing condition, spacious and cute. Coffee and muffins in the morning helped get the day started. Staff was nice , is dog friendly and very clean!

I got nothing negative to say. Loved it!

The Islander is an Ocean Drive institution. It looks and feels like it did 30 years ago. And that is OK. If you want pedestrian access to virtually everything Vero Beach's Ocean Drive has to offer, than the Islander is the spot. Neither flashy nor overdone, The Islander is mostly bare minimum. If you'll spend your time exploring the beach and the surrounding area, then choose the Islander. If you want a lot of room time, then a more modern, appointed property might be best.

Upside: the Islander is literally just steps from Vero's Ocean Drive. Downside: the Islander is literally just steps from Vero's Ocean Drive. In other words, you can hear everything: the ocean, the ocean birds, Ocean Drive traffic and pedestrian conversations. You have to take the good with the bad.
