Breakfast was excellent. Great variety daily! My husband loved the coffee variety and I enjoyed the juice. Was happy to find my favorite croissants! As well as a favorite "French Toast' in the mix of other variety! Wonderful fresh fruit daily. The view is exceptional from the room. The dinners were all of high standard and the deserts, well let's just say we licked our lips! The chef checked in often. The Hostess was just wonderful. She had a perfect balance on checking in with the guests and giving privacy. We enjoyed her sense of humor! What a gem. The 'barman' was very humorous, and always up to accommodating a different request. The decorative garnishes on the food was absolutely beautiful.
The wi-fi strength on the property we think can do with a booster or two.
Not a 'dislike' but because of a health challenge we always mention that a handrail in showers would be a great safety feature.

The hospitality and welcoming were friendly. The lodge is a work of art every corner hides something amazing. The view over the Sterkfontein dam is breathtaking. The meals were delicious, beautifully presented and we did not leave the table hungry..Well done to the Chef.
The road to the Lodge is about 15km gravel.Most Avis rental cars should be able to do the road slowly. We had some lovely game and bird viewing in the reserve on our way to the lodge.

The staff were really friendly and the food was great. The scenery is beautiful, and the garden lovely.
This is NOT 5 star accommodation:
1. They do not tell you on the website that you can only get there via 18km of dirt road which is not suitable for low clearance cars. They only WhatsApp you this info once you have paid the non-cancellable full rate.
2. Inside the room things get worse: the carpets were filthy; the towels threadbare and frayed; the bed was sagging; the phone didn't work; the fittings were falling off the walls; the balcony door had a 1cm gap in it through which the wind howled all night...
