nice little hostel.
good value, i stayed during off season. kombini is near,n supermarket in 1km walk distance.
it has mini onsen,n mini kitchen though the plates n appliances a lil minimal.
i can use the storage room to keep my touring bike

Basic but well equipped hostel best for solo travelers in skiing season
5 min walking distance from JR station
Onsen is a plus for relaxation after whole day skiing
Staff is very helpful and hospitable too!

It is very close to Echigo Yuzawa Shinkensen station, approximately 2-5 mins walking from the station. The hostel is located at the center of the ski town with restaurants and bars line up along the road. The price is not the cheapest but definitely on the affordable side as I booked it only 3 days in advance.
- The onsen is one person use at a time, which the waiting line can be pretty annoying during the rush hours (say around 5-8pm after everyone get back to the hostel from skiing or snowboarding.)
- Although there is a window in my room, the outside is only 2 meters away from the neighboring building.
- No breakfast is available (I can live with that, but breakfast option would be great!)

Good location within a 5 minute walk to the nearest Ski Resort (Yuzawa Kogen).
Room reasonably clean, comfortable and warm.
Cleanliness was average at best.
While room was warm, the rest of the hostel was cold and communal heating was rarely turned on.
The kitchen was very untidy and poorly stocked. Coffee ran out one of the mornings and staff don't seem to start work until after 9AM, well after many of us skiers had already left the hostel to hit the ski slopes.
