The location and check in process is good. But when I entered the bathroom in the master bedroom, I found out a lot of used towels from last guests. They didn’t clean the bathroom for us which makes the bathroom very very messy and smelly. There are two bathrooms, both of the floor is not well cleaned, which makes us feel very uncomfortable. I thought that is the only place that makes us feel bad until I found out the blood spot on the quilt. Spending time with friends in the living room is very warm and sweet. We used the fireplace and that is my favorite part of this cabin. Also, they will charge extra pet fee after you paid on Vrbo. I can understand the pet fee, but the other cabin that I have booked before will remind me before paying. I prefer the host listing every cost before I paid, instead of charging me after I already booked for my trip. And you have to create an account on their own website to pay for the pet fee, which is a little bit complicated.

We come to this area of North Carolina often but until now had never stayed on sugar mountain. The location for starters was central to all of the places we like to visit while in the high country.The home had everything we needed including great views. There were no steps to navigate when entering the home. The deck and yard were fantastic.

The owner is so nice. I had to call about a heat issue and heard back from 3 people who all wanted to fix our issue. They were all fabulous!! We arrived Thursday and it rained on Friday which was perfect for Halloween movies and hot choc and snacks. We enjoyed the fireplace not only for the warmth but for the beauty of being around the flame. ( the heat was resolved btw and we were very comfortable) I just wish we had had more time up there. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

We had a wonderful stay! This property is in such a great area, close to so many attractions. We came in the fall just as all the leaves were changing colors and the view from the back deck was absolutely gorgeous. We were so happy to be able to bring our dogs and we truly had such a great time. The property was very clean and had everything we needed!

This is one of those reviews I almost don’t want to post. I’d rather prefer to keep the place a sweet -as -sugar -secret find for our family, but I’ll take the high road on this one and let you in on the secret: If you’re looking to stay in an absolutely BEAUTIFUL home situated in a perfect location with ample parking and AMAZING mountain views , this wonderful home is it! It has more than well appointed kitchen baths and bedrooms ( I must say , all with super comfy beds!) and it’s difficult to reduce to words how gorgeous the panoramic Mountain Views are as seen from the home’s living room ,dining area and wrap around deck.! It’s super close to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort where we all had tons of fun for our first time on its great slopes.
We had a small issue with the HVAC upon arrival , but the manager of property could not have been more attentive to the situation, sending out repairmen within an hour to address the situation without further issue.
We all felt perfectly comfy and at home there on our first visit to Sugar Mountain :-D!
Many thanks and we would definitely look to stay there again on our next visit!

Just a few minutes from pretty much anywhere we wanted to go for our ski trip. The house is well stocked…the kids were even able to bake a cake! The place was a bit more worn than the pictures portray, it was a bit musty when we checked in too but lit the candles they had all over the house and that helped. The reason for my lower rating on cleanliness is because it seems the cleaning crew did not clean the primary bathroom floors well and there was other peoples hair all alongside the floor between the door and the toilet. Otherwise, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend to friends.

We had three generations of our family on this trip. The layout of the house was great. You could all be together in the main area with plenty of space, or you could retreat to either of the wings for some quiet time. The house was very clean. The wraparound deck and the views from it were nice. The location of the house also was very convenient to numerous places we visited.
My few complaints are very minor. The kitchen could use some more cooking utensils. The house also has YouTube TV instead of cable/satellite, which is fine. The issue is that only the main room TV has a Roku device that allows you to watch YTTV. The remaining TVs are smart, but we weren't able to install the YTTV app.
We enjoyed our trip. We would definitely stay at this house again.

You could all be together in the main area with plenty of space, or you could retreat to either of the wings for some quiet time. The house was very clean. The wraparound deck and the views from it were nice. The location of the house also was very convenient to numerous places we visited.

Best mountain vacation ever! This newly renovated home is nestled into the side of the mountain, and the owners have spared no detail in making it a premier destination. The property is beautifully landscaped and lit with architectural lighting and is equipped with a digital lock, so it is safe during the day and night. It has a "smart" thermostat, a true chalet panoramic view, large, vaulted ceilings, wood flooring, stone walls, a giant fireplace, with lush and extremely comfortable furniture in connected but separate sitting areas. There is a country classic dining room with easy kitchen access. The kitchen has new appliances and is stocked with all of the accoutrements one would expect to find at home. It also has four 65+ inch Samsung TVs complete with Wi-Fi Prime, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV, Disney+, HBO Max, other streaming options, and sound bars. Our son was delighted to find an Xbox ready to go in his bedroom. The beds are extremely comfortable. Three large bedrooms connect with a large wraparound deck that has a large table and chairs and a large grill/smoker. All three bedrooms have large closets. The decorations and lighting are first rate, and we felt at home immediately. Oh! Instacart and GrubHub delivered filet mignon, wine, and all the food we enjoy. The owners are interior designers who bought, renovated, and decorated the property for its intended use. So this is truly a resort property. They care deeply about the property and their guests' responses to it, so it a pleasure to leave this review. They deserve it for the work, care, and investment they put into the property. We will be returning often!

Great Mountain Get Away

Incredible Property
Everything about this property was fantastic. We took a last minute trip with four generations 92-2.....and this house floor plan was perfect, it was def a spa like retreat with all supplies well thought out and generous. We couldn't have loved it more.
