Take a classic Muskoka cottage, place it on a piece of Canadian Shield with a wondeful panoramic view, and you have Granite Point. This Muskoka cottage rental dates back to a time when the prime spots on Silver Lake were available. The original cottage has been given a wonderful refurb and awaits your family this summer. Cozy and bright, this cottage oozes with the classic cottage rental experience with a few modern perks thrown in - like air conditioning, laundry and Internet! The three bedrooms sit at the back of the cottage. Taller individuals might have to duck just a little at one end of the master bedroom, but you will find it comfortable and welcoming after a busy day on the waterfront. The kitchen is bright and modern, with everything you need to feed that hungry family. The 3-piece bathroom is sleek and clean, while the living/dining area comfortably seats your group. You should be comfortable in any weather with the heat-pump/air-conditioner. From the living room, walkout doors take you to a treetop deck for outdoor dining, relaxing and soaking in all that is cottage country. Here you'll feel the peninsula breeze through towering pines. The view is created by the elevation on the rock, so a bit of a descent to the waterfront is needed. A series of stone and wood steps take you to a generous size dock, with the water clear and deep. Given the steps and the deeper water, the cottage is best suited for those with no mobility concerns. Kayakers will want to explore the lake, with the adventurous ones perhaps making it into the town of Gravenhurst, about a 5 km paddle. The town of Gravenhurst is easily reached by car and has everything you will need in the way of supplies and groceries, along with several dining options. Those with a taste for nostalgia may want to take in a movie at the Muskoka Drive-in, just 6 km away.
