About this cabin rental
Tucked into the trees of St. Mary's Glacier, a quiet mountain subdivision about 10 miles northwest of Idaho Springs and roughly an hour from Denver, this cozy cabin sits at just under 10,000 feet — bring water and take it easy the first day as you adjust to the elevation.
Upstairs you'll find two comfortable bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen, a full bathroom, a stocked linen closet, plenty of closet and storage space, and a small washer and dryer for longer stays. Downstairs, an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area offers a two-person breakfast bar and everything you need to settle in. The living room has a half bath, a shelf of books and DVDs for quiet evenings in, Starlink WiFi for streaming or working remotely, and a queen sofa sleeper for extra guests. A wood-burning stove can heat the whole house, backed up by electric baseboard heaters in every room, so you're comfortable whatever the season.
We love animals and welcome up to 2 dogs for an additional $75 per stay — just note your pets when you book.
Mornings here are best spent on the deck with a cup of coffee, watching deer make their way down to the creek that runs along the back of the property. In summer, hummingbirds visit the feeders, moose are a common sight, and every so often a black bear wanders through the neighborhood. The surrounding forest is full of hiking trails, and 4-wheeling and ATV trails are abundant, with many accessible right from the house.
For day trips, Indian Hot Springs is a short drive down to Idaho Springs, which also has whitewater rafting, shopping, breweries, excellent barbecue, and the iconic Beau Jo's pizza — plus a great little local coffee shop just minutes from the cabin. You're about 30 minutes from Central City and Black Hawk and 25 minutes from Echo Lake and Mt. Evans, with outdoor recreation surrounding you year-round: skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ice skating, hiking, fishing, hunting, and more.
Whether you're chasing powder in the winter or a quiet, peaceful escape among the trees in the summer, this mountain cabin is a cozy home base for it all.

Gorgeous drive up to cabin, photos accurate. A little misguided wording- there is a pull out couch in the living room that is stated to be a “third bedroom”. There was no linens for this pull out couch. Bathtub didn’t drain properly. There was no grill as stated. Trash from last guests still in trash can in closet, trash and someone else’s hair ties found around home. A bit disappointing. Overall, a decent place to rest after hiking and exploring.

Everything you need and more. Beautiful location and views. We were able to see a wolf in the back meadow.

We chose the rental for its location near Idaho Springs. We wanted a smaller town to go to for food and shopping and like Idaho. Springs. Our daughter lives in Denver so it was not too far from the airport or for her to join us, but far enough away. It was quiet even though there were houses close by. It was very peaceful sitting on the deck looking out at the mountains.
