Nestled in Georgetown, this lovely house for $244 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Originally built in 1873, with an extensive remodel and addition completed in early 2000's, this property is located just a short walk from Georgetown's historic town center and all the beauty the old mining town has to offer. Ideal location for those looking for a relaxing getaway in an historic town, while offering a central location between Colorado's many jaw-dropping locales. Find yourself midway between Denver and Vail, with Red Rocks and Breckenridge in between. Or, locally, just a stone's throw from Loveland Ski Area, Guanella Pass and the famous Georgetown Loop Railroad. Year round, Georgetown is an ideal location to exploit all of what Colorado has to offer. Property amenities: Master Suite with jetted tub, double headed shower, gas fireplace and a romantic deck for two with views of the continental divide. A Bunkhouse room dedicated to kids, containing bean bags , video games and bunk beds for three. "Yellow Room" with Queen bed and sitting area. "Purple Room" with a queen bed and "widows walk" private balcony perfectly suited for couple's who enjoy watching the sunrise over the mountains. Main floor features a Victorian parlor with fireplace, living room, dining room (with access to BBQ deck), powder room and an updated gourmet kitchen perfect for families who love to cook. The Morrison House is a must for your next vacation!

My adult family of 5 with three adult children in their 20's were very satisfied with this VRBO. It was spacious, close to many ski resorts and the owner was very responsive to any questions we had. Unfortunately, many of the shops in Georgetown close after the New Year but we did enjoy strolling the downtown area on our day off from the slopes. I would not recommend walking to downtown in winter due to steep incline from VRBO to downtown plus chilly temps once the sun goes down. Would recommend this VRBO & rebook it without hesitation. Thank you, Karen! You are an excellent hostess!

I needed a place to reconnect with my soul, as corny as that sounds, and this was just the place. In fact, I booked an extra couple of days on to my stay here because of this house and the tranquility. I’m wish I didn’t have to leave. I’ll be back for sure.

We had a good time in a nice partially renovated home. The creak of the wood floors , open windows and train horn in the distant paired well with the modern renovations supporting some normal routines.

We LOVE this property. This is now our go-to place to stay as a family in Georgetown. Karen has the place so beautifully decorated and welcoming for us upon our arrival. We lengthened our stay this year and will do so again next year. Thanks for making our Georgetown experience so wonderful.

AllbLights not working...stove needs cleaning...more directions needed re: how appliances work, where are supplies? One suggestion: straps at edge of beautiful but very shallow staircases

Perfect Getaway
I can’t begin to describe how welcoming this home was upon our arrival. It was a cold, snowy, WINDY late afternoon but the outside Christmas lights were on to welcome us. Upon entering the house, no, upon entering the home the lights were on inside also as warm tree lights and decorations graced each room. We could not have been more delighted.
This is our third stay at “the purple house” and it will not be our last. We settled in and waited for more family members to arrive. It was a wonderful weekend, and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The only thing we needed was more time so we have decided to book a longer stay next time.
Thank you for a clean, well-maintained, and MOST enjoyable weekend Karen. We will be back. ❤️

Karen was super-responsive to questions, everything went very smoothly. The Georgetown location was lovely, we explored the immediate area, trails going up to and at Guanella Pass, rode the Georgetown loop railroad, etc. We also made it up to Rocky Mtn Nat’l park (about 1-1/2 hour drive) and Buena Vista to do some 4 wheeling. Georgetown was 10-15 degrees cooler than down in Golden/Lakewood, great getaway.

Beautiful Mountain Retreat
Part of me wants to keep this wonderful home a secret all to ourselves; the other part of me knows Karen’s efforts need to be shared with everyone.
This home meets all of our needs. Grandparents, parents, children and infants are all accommodated in this beautiful home. A lovely, morning mountain hike was nearby that all of us could enjoy. A two minute walk for shopping in the afternoon awaited us later in the day.
My five-year old grandson LOVES the purple house and looks forward now to our yearly visit.
Thank you so much Karen for being so understanding and flexible with us during COVID and snowstorms. You are awesome.
Next visit...Georgetown Market in December.

We usually do a holiday kickoff at the Gaylord every year but with COVID we wanted to still do a trip without but without being around people. This house was so cute and in a great location. It had everything we needed and then some. We will for sure be staying there again!

What a wonderful Victorian manner. Full of charm and character. Very comfortable for our family. Beds were great and kitchen terrific. Walking distance to the Main Street. Loved it. Had a great time and would love to visit again.

The stay that COVID prevented
Shout out to Karen for her understanding in my family's situation. We had reserved the house for a weekend stay with a few of my siblings. Unfortunately, four of us received positive test results for COVID *the night before* our scheduled stay. We requested to cancel at the last minute, and Karen made it possible for us. We are all recovered. Thanks!
