It is between Lanis (turtle Beach)/Chuns and Waimea. We are a 5 min drive to Haleiwa and Sharks Cove. SUMMER. May to August There is great snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, fishing, and the occasional small fun swells. Go jump off the rock at Waimea, check out turtle beach and great food in Haleiwa or Sharks Cove. WINTER: September to April there are often North swells creating waves as large as 30 to 50'. The beach in front of the house is generally protected and can be fun for kids and families during this time. However, please be very careful. We recommend you know before you go by researching wave heights and swell trends at surfline.com or surfnewsnetwork.com before going to any beach on the North Shore during winter. This beach is not patrolled by life guards however at beaches where they are present talk to life guards about conditions and safety. Know before you go to the ocean during this time. If in doubt don't go out. NORTH SHORE: The north shore is what we in Hawaii call "The Country". People live here for a sense of calm and laid back atmosphere, beaches, surf and to get away from commercialism. Please always be respectful of locals and neighbors, at the home as well as anywhere in Hawaii. Also remember in the country you will have geckos (they are our friends because they eat the bugs), dogs, cats, chickens, cows, horses, cockroaches, ants and the occasionally mongoose... fortunately no snakes!!! Also know there is only one highway through the north shore so there is some highway noise in most homes around the north shore. CHILD SAFETY: The home is not set up with child safety measures or child proofing. It includes decks, stairs, uncovered outlets and cabinets that open to cleaning supplies. It is the sole responsibility of the renter with children to provide age appropriate safety measures for their children.

Wonderful house in a great North Shore location. Close to Haleiwa, Waimea, Sunset. The beach right across the street at Alligator Rock was perfect for our 18-month-old grandson, with protected areas behind the rock that blocked the sometimes large surf. Mike was so gracious and accommodating, and easy to communicate with. The house is stunning and very well equipped -- beach supplies, towels, kitchenware, spices and sauces. All you need to bring is food and beverage. Mahalo to Mike and Summer. Our family is already dreaming about a return visit!

This north shore property quickly became our home away from home. The spacious lanai, the comfortable beds, the delightful baths, and the open living area was perfect for our family, dad, mom, and adult children with their partners. The home was extremely well stocked which we greatly appreciated. The owner was extremely responsive even bringing a new grill to the home so we could grill a few meals.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It gave us easy access to many beaches, hikes, food options, short drive to shopping in Hale'iwa, and a beautiful drive to the Polynesian Cultural Center (~25 minutes). The PCC was a highlight for us.

Located just a few minutes west of Waimea Bay and a few minutes east of the now bustling Haleiwa, this is a fantastic location. Great restaurants, groceries stores and amenities are all close by. You’re also no more than 20 minutes from all North Shore beaches. It’s quite a remarkable location over all. There is quite a variety of beaches within walking distance. Calm beaches with rocks and structure offering protected swimming, reefs with consistent surfing, reefs for large surf in the winter and so on. Turtles and copious amounts of marine life along with amazing sunset views are across the street. With a singular road, traffic can be a bear at times when the waves are decent or on weekends, but it’s easy to work around. When the waves are small there are some amazing snorkel places (Three Tables, Sharks Cove) just up the road. I can talk all about the location for a while, but it’s safe to say that there is a lot to do within 20 minutes of the house. The house itself is very well appointed, well maintained and is quite beautiful. The kitchen and great room are perfect for family dinners and the assorted pots, pans and utensils are probably the best of any VRBO we’ve stayed at. A family or two would have no issues staying here and enjoying the house, it’s amenities and surrounding environment. The hosts are good people, with easy lines of communication and prompt attention. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back or recommend to anyone.

My sister and myself rented this property for a family getaway with our 5 daughters. Mike was wonderful to deal with. He gave us some great ideas of fun things to see and do while we were there. The house was very comfortable and located within walking distance to the beach and turtle sanctuary. ( I must say that out of all Vrbo’s I’ve stayed at, this had the most fully equipped kitchen which made it easy to have some meals at home). I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay especially if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas.

This home is so well-appointed and beautifully designed! We had our work retreat on the North Shore and half of our company stayed here (5 people total). The other half came to visit frequently as the home had everything we needed to host dinners, workshops and other activities (the multiple seating areas, including the outdoor porch/table, were great). There are beaches close by, and Waimea is a gorgeous sandy beach <1 mile away, where we had team workouts in the morning. Definitely would recommend!

The house is stunning and in a great location! Mike was very responsive and helpful. We met up with family to stay for 10 days (including a 1 year old) and had a wonderful time. The house is very well maintained, clean, and very accommodating! we fit 7 people (including kiddo) very easily and cooked / stayed in most evenings. Our favorite outing was to walk to the beach down the road and swim in the calmer water during the morning, and watch the sunsets at night. Would 100% come back and visit again!
