Our newly renovated studio is warmly furnished with timber walls, copper fixtures and rustic furnishings. With one bed and a sofa sleeper, this apartment sleeps two adults and one small child. Our property is ultra pet-friendly. Need somewhere to take your furry friend? Grab your leash, and enjoy the convenience of a grassy park just outside of the front door. Or head to the off-leash trails, which are just a short drive away. Stop into nearby Two Salty Dogs store and grab a treat for your fur baby! INSIDE THE HOUSE Timber flooring and walls bring a cozy-yet-updated vibe to this newly renovated 1-bed studio apartment. Unwind in the living area, which has a sleeper sofa, leather swivel chair and flat screen TV. Double French doors open out to a small mahogany deck with incredible views of Boothbay Harbor. Grab a seat in a padded club chair and watch fishing boats and yachts glide across the water. A well-equipped kitchen features stunning Brazillian Blue Granite countertops, copper fixtures and contemporary digital appliances including a built-in microwave, dishwasher, convection steam oven, induction stove, Magic Bullet, and Keurig machine for brewing up morning coffees. After a day of whale watching or shopping around downtown, take a hot soak in a the gorgeous river rock shower. When you’re ready to slumber, head to your relaxing master bedroom where a brand new queen bed awaits. THE LOCATION Located in the heart of Downtown Boothbay Harbor, our 1-bed studio is just a block away from the waterfront - with on site parking - putting you within walking distance of fishing, boating and sailing tours. Your four-legged friend will enjoy miles of dog-friendly hiking trails. Book whale watching trips with Cap'n Fish and go in search of minke and humpback whales surfacing along the Maine coastline. Or head to Schooner Eastwind and enjoy tours around the Burnt and Ram island lighthouses. Take part in Cabbage Island lobster bakes, and enjoy some locally caught oysters on the half shell! Our central location is also just a short stroll from local shops, independent home decor stores and fabulous restaurants. For traditional Italian classics, walk next door to Ports of Italy or a short walk to Harborside Tavern for a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can also indulge on specialty foods at Eventide (located right across the street), buy a special treat for your furry friend at Two Salty Dogs Pet Outfitters, and visit Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, which hosts Garden's Aglow and Festival of Lights in Boothbay Harbor. Winter nights are aglow at Boothbay's Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens! Maine's largest light display just got even larger, with over 360,000 (and counting!) LED lights illuminating the central gardens and buildings and drawing festive crowds from all over. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle. This rental is located on floor 2. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

We took a quick winter getaway to freezing Boothbay. This little studio apartment on the second floor was a perfect cozy spot. It is nicely decorated, very rustic style and comfortable. Everything we needed for our stay was available, easy to find and nicely organized. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, in-town place to stay, summer or winter.

The location was perfect for us. It was in the center of everything so we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. The place was also nice and clean and just the right size for the two of us. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here again!

such a sweet, great studio apt. We loved it here. It’s perfect for 2 ppl, close to everything. The coffee shop we went to every morning and tried the restaurants. Also, the trolley and boat excursions are so close. My favorite was the deck outside our door. Great for morning harbor and ppl watching. I would recommend the Coal shack 10 times over. Let me add this property is well cared for and it cares for you back.

My sister and I loved this apartment. It was clean and comfortable for the two of us and you just could not beat the view from the deck overlooking the harbor. We did a lot of walking in and around the harbor. The new footbridge across the harbor was a great walk back and forth every day and there were plenty of little shops to visit in this charming location. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. We really enjoyed our stay.

Loved the Coal Shack. The place was spotless and you are steps away from everything! We brought our dog and he loved Boothbay Harbor.
They made good use of the space packing in everything you need. Also loved that they use items from the local shops in the Coal Shack. Internet can be spotty at times.
Only thing we did not love is all extra fees.

Location couldn’t have been better. The place was clean, well supplied, and absolutely adorable. LOVED the balcony. Our dogs sat out there constantly and watched people walk by. Great view of the harbor. We were right across the street from the best wine/deli in town. Easy morning walk to our favorite breakfast place, Blue Moon.

Conveniently located so that everything you want to do and see is within walking distance. Views from the desk were awesome. Inside the unit, the owners thought of everything. We highly recommend this unit and Boothbay Harbor in general. This was our first trip to Maine and was one of our best vacations to date!

A stylish, efficient, comfortable little gem of a place. Though it is only a studio, the kitchen rocks. It is just a very comfortable space. It was immaculately clean and well-stocked with everything you need. We only stayed for two days, but even a week would not feel tight. We loved it.

This place is perfect for a short stay at the picturesque Boothbay Harbor. Great location, everything is within a walking distance from shops, harbor, restaurants, cruises, nice view from the balcony. Dog friendly place, it was a very nice touch to found a 'welcome' treats and dog-friendly trails suggestions from a Two Salty Dogs shop right across the street; perfectly equipped kitchen, nice bathroom and shower; comfortable bed; very clean and well maintained cozy and creative use of small space place. 4 starts only for the reason that it is a small walk-up 2nd floor studio apartment, not really an entire house (to be fair - no one lives on the first floor). Overall, a cool, cozy, clean and convenient place.

What an amazing location and view of the water and boats. The place is well stocked and everything you need is there. Exceeded our expectations. Our dog felt welcome. If you need a dog walker while you stay there call Sara at 207-522-5138, she took care of my dog while we went on day trips. Referred to me by person on Rover.com.

We are home and my dogs are sad. Coal Shack is a well appointed studio with a wonderful deck. My husband and I sit and play backgammon with cocktails. Our dogs sit and watch everyone go by. Now that we are home they miss the deck. If you want to park your car and walk to everything this is the place.
