Located just two blocks from Main Street you’ll find the best boutique restaurants and shopping Ames had to offer. Relax in the evenings around the fire pit or challenge your group to a game of horseshoes. No matter the vacation you envision, you’ll feel at home. Welcome home to The Ames Retreat. For guest safety we do have survelliance cameras on the front and rear of all of our properties. Footage is only reviewed if there is a valid concern.

House as advertised. Clean and close all things Ames.

The place was in a good location to access coffee, stores, etc.
The place was small but clean and nice.
One thing that is not clear from the pictures is the upstairs. Stairs are fairly steep. Ceiling upstairs are not recommended for tall adults. One of our family members had to sleep on the couch the other could only use the large bed on first floor.
Everything else was fabulous!

Cute, cozy house. Clean and well appointed. Within walking distance to restaurants and stores. Nice neighborhood. Downtown Ames close by. Upstairs twin bedroom was a bit tiny. If you are over 5'7" you'll hit your head on the ceiling! Overall great stay. Thank you!

This house is in a very quiet neighborhood but still close to everything you might need, and is just a short drive to the campus. It's beautiful, clean, and was everything our family needed for a short visit.

Such a cute little house! everything was neat & tidy and welcoming. it's easy to find and the store/restaurants are close. It felt very homey & comfortable. Took the kids to Ames aquatic center and had a blast! Later we enjoyed the Boone Dinner Train for the evening. At sunset we lit up the fire pit and roasted s,mores. Great memories were made!

Cute, clean house! The bedrooms upstairs had short ceilings, but were quaint and charming. The fire pit, grill and outdoors games were awesome! A weird thing: no oven! I was not prepared for that. The kitchen was super well equipped otherwise! Also wished there were more pillows and blankets upstairs. Bathroom was well stocked and clean. Kind of in a weird place, but also was nice to have a lot of room to hang out outside.

We loved this house. It was perfect for our small group. The house was clean and had a lot of little touches that make staying in a vacation home convenient. We used the fire pit one night, great set up. Having it so close to Target and restaurants was nice. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The check-in process was easy. The home was clean and fully renovated both in and out. The indoor and outdoor space was perfect for our family with kids visiting our college student at Iowa State. Quick drive to campus and lots to do near by. Parking was great.
