Siamo arrivati a Casa Castiglia pensando di aver prenotato semplicemente un posto in cui trascorrere due giorni. Siamo andati via con la sensazione di aver vissuto qualcosa che ricorderemo a lungo.
Ad accoglierci ci sono stati il sorriso di Cristina e Peppe, il loro calore, la loro simpatia e, naturalmente, tutti gli animali che fanno parte di questo piccolo mondo meraviglioso.
Non dimenticherò facilmente la commozione mia e del mio compagno mentre davamo da mangiare a Maruzza, la capretta, e a Basilico, l’asinello che dopo pochissimo aveva già imparato a riconoscerci e veniva a cercarci. Sembrano piccole cose, ma sono proprio quelle che, inaspettatamente, riescono a diventare i ricordi più belli di un viaggio.
E poi le galline, i galli, i cani, dei gattini dolcissimi… A Casa Castiglia ogni incontro sembra avere una storia.
Cristina e Peppe non si limitano ad aprirti la porta di una stanza: ti aprono le porte della loro casa e, in qualche modo, anche della loro vita. Ti accolgono con una genuinità, un calore e una generosità che non puoi prevedere quando fai una prenotazione. Ti consigliano cosa vedere, dove andare, cosa scoprire nei dintorni e lo fanno con quella cura che, dopo pochissimo, ti fa smettere di sentirti un ospite e cominciare a sentirti a casa.
La nostra stanza era grande, accogliente e curata in ogni dettaglio, con la stessa attenzione e lo stesso cuore che Cristina e Peppe sembrano mettere in tutto quello che fanno.
Ci sono luoghi bellissimi in cui soggiornare e poi ci sono luoghi capaci di lasciarti qualcosa.
Casa Castiglia per noi è stata questo.
E ha un unico, enorme difetto: crea dipendenza. Perché quando vai via, invece di pensare al prossimo posto da visitare, cominci già a pensare a quando potrai tornare.

This place is a hidden gem perched on a hill overlooking the valley and the town of Castelbuono. It is absolutely beautiful — green, peaceful, and full of animals including cats, dogs, sheep, goats, donkeys, rabbits, and tortoises — making it perfect for children and anyone looking to escape busy town life and experience an authentic countryside atmosphere.
Cristina and Peppe are wonderful hosts. It is clear they genuinely enjoy welcoming people and sharing their way of life with their guests. We absolutely loved our stay and only regretted booking for just one night, as we could easily have spent a whole week or more relaxing in such a charming place.
The room had everything we needed, including a kettle for tea and coffee, with tea bags and coffee thoughtfully provided. There is also an outdoor kitchen exclusively for guests, where meals can be prepared and then enjoyed on the veranda overlooking the valley. On-site parking is available as well.
A huge thank you to Cristina and Peppe for making our stay so special.

Beautiful location though a 40 minute walk from Casteluono - Fantastic hosts who made us feel very welcome with lots of tips about hiking and places to visit.
Paying extra to use the kitchen.
