We had another amazing weekend at this lovely home. The location and lack of beach traffic (car access) is great for families- no cars driving by at all hours of the night. This is a golf cart only neighborhood but also close enough to stroll to the beach. The home itself has a fantastic bunk room for teens/kids and two other spacious bedrooms including a primary en suite. The deck and views cannot be beat! The home is well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The outdoor living spaces are excellent but upstairs and down. The host is beyond accommodating and communicates before and during the stay to ensure your needs are being met. We rent often in Bolivar but this is by far our favorite home. We will be back soon!

My husband and a few of our friends really enjoyed our stay. We live about one hour from Crystal Beach and just wanted a quick get away at one of our favorite places. The house was lovely and the host communicated throughout the weekend. We loved it. We hope to be back soon.

Well equipped, nicely decorated house within walking distance to the beach. Quiet neighborhood. Awesome relaxing porch. Great communication with hosts. Expectations are made clear and some seem like common sense but perhaps they had problems with renters in the past. We really enjoyed our time there and would book again.

Beautiful home in a beautiful well maintained neighborhood. Impressed with the thought out in to items needed in the house. They have thought of every burn and everything is in good condition which is uncommon in rentals. Would for sure stay here again.

The professionally produced pictures make this this property look amazing and it’s a beautiful house, indeed. The problem is what you can’t see in the pictures: thousands of aggressive ants streaming in through the window sills, doors and walls! The first night, we noticed the ants crawling on the kitchen counter, but they were more unsightly than a nuisance, so we instructed our family to keep all food and water sources safely stored away. On our second night, the ants became even more invasive—biting and stinging our children while they slept in the bunk beds! The next morning, we discovered multiple bites/sting marks on our children’s arms, legs, hands and feet. We immediately inspected their room for any food or water sources and found it to be clean. At this point, we considered reporting the problem to the owners, but we wanted to enjoy our last day on the beach instead of waiting for an exterminator to show up and saturate the house with chemicals! At the end of our last day, we checked the kitchen and children’s bunk room once again for food and water that might attract the ants and everything was safely stored away. My wife applied some Cedarwood essential oil to some paper towels and placed them around the children with hope that the scent would help of stave off the ants. Unfortunately, the ants returned once again to bite and sting our children while they slept! At this point, my son had enough and retreated to the couch in the living room to get some relief. Before checking out the next morning, we observed hundreds of black ants still crawling on the mattresses, sheets, quilts and walls in the children’s bunk room. Needless to say, we were glad to be packing up and heading home! The next day, I contacted the owner to explain the situation, hoping he could get the problem resolved before the next family arrived at the property. Brian apologized and explained that his cleaning staff alerted him to the ant problem. He blamed the extreme heat for the ant invasion and asked if there was anything he could do to “make this right”. I appreciated his willingness to do this, so I politely asked for a partial refund. Brian responded, “How much of a refund do you have in mind?” I asked for a small refund of $274, which is the average cost per night for the property. Brian responded with a VRBO customer support number and essentially told me it was their problem. This was Brian’s last message, as he fused any further communication with me.
