Stayed on the water in Mission Bay. Great property on near restaurants with a path on the water, patio set up to take in the bay and a grill for cooking out . The condo was really nice and clean. Would definitely recommend.

So pay attention when you look at the pics. This truly is beach front, but if you want to see a horizon, look again. A fairly recent remodel. Clearly the person/s responsible did about everything they could think of to create perfection. They very nearly did so. Never in any of the dozens of vacation rentals we have done over decades have we found a kitchen so well supplied with all cooking utensils and appliances. The bathroom was just big enough, has top-line fixtures, stacks of great quality linens, and only it needs a couple of simple but important things: hand rails for safe entry and egress of the very deep, large soaking tub; more convenient towel racks; and a simple shelf on which to place cosmetics, toothbrushes, and the like. Check in was a bit of a hassle. The day before arrival, we had not received that into and it took a bit of effort for the rental agent to get it to us. On arrival, the keyless entry lock was not functional, and we were lucky that the owner, who lives below, heard us flailing to gain entry, then came up and got us an actual key from a lock box. While doing so, she also raved about how well the unit had been remodeled, saying that others. whom she referred to as "they" had spent a huge amount of money and did such a great job of it! The owner is a real character, available to help as needed and made a bit of effort to minimize her several dogs barking. Great food, parks and an amusement park with a vintage wooden coaster.nearby. GO!

The view and the patio were the best part of the stay. Very calm, mostly quiet surroundings. There was construction going on 2 doors down - I did not notice it much when I was inside, but outside, it was more prominent. However, the sound of the fountain when you are out on the patio helped drown out the noise. The owner Patti and her husband were helpful and available if needed. Pros - AC/ceiling fans during unusual heat wave, patio, and view. Cons - WiFi only worked inside; patio was mostly a miss. Also, the property manager was not flexible. I had an interview to conduct which interfered with the 10 AM check out time. I only needed 15 additional minutes and the property manager was adamant I needed to leave at 10. So just be aware.

This home is truly in the best location to enjoy what San Diego has to offer. We were able to enjoy Oceanside beach (when we wanted bigger crowds and perfect sunsets) as well as bayside beach when we wanted a quieter more relaxed afternoon. It was also very easy to get downtown to do tourist-type activities. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
