The hotel is in an excellent part of the city. Easily accessible to the trams and very walkable to everything.
Our room was disappointing. So small. We were only there for one night so we didn’t complain.

Did not provide wash cloths in bathroom. Bathroom mirror light went out and they never came to fix it. Ate at their restaurant and my wife bit into a metal thin rod in her salad (luckily, not mouth or teeth damage). Carpet is old and needs to be replaced. Needs new paint job in halls and rooms. Lighting in rooms is too dark. AC would not cool the room down. Will never go back.

Pros: location excellent, front desk folks were friendly and helpful, bathroom a 5, dual sink was handy, tub and shower great, room was quiet and housekeeping very good.
Cons: the sole window in the room was 6 ft off the ground so view not great unless you stood on a chair. This gave you a claustrophobic feeling, air circulation was non-existent, room was stuffy and warm the thermostat did not work. The building is historic so expectations were not that high to begin with, however for the money spent not sure the value was there.

The hotel is in a good location to explore Amsterdam. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant is overpriced and food was average, nothing special.

We were being allocated to a storeroom location of the hotel. ROOM 127 where it’s outdoor, only accessible by walking down a narrow spiral staircase. Imagine all the heavy luggages. The hotel really make use of each corner of the hotel to make space for a room. Avoid this hotel if you doesn’t want a similar experience.
The spiral staircase is open air. So we will get wet to our room if it’s raining. Worst 4-Star hotel ever!

The hotel was lovely and in a perfect setting. The staff treated us like family and made it feel really special staying here. The beds were super comfortable! I highly recommend this hotel!

This place is the absolute perfect stay for Amsterdam. The rooms were clean and lovely. The staff were great and polite! The area around the hotel is perfect for walking. The restraunt on site is also delicious, a perfect stay for us!

We had great stay here. The staff is very helpful and welcoming! Hotel was clean and nice. Only complaint is that the room was small (we had a standard room). It was tough to find space to open both of our checked bags. If you only have one checked bag or carryons I don’t think you will have a problem. Would stay again!

Loved our stay at Die Port Van Cleeve hotel. The staff were super friendly and it was a great base, not too far from Amsterdam Central station, as well as the museum quarter. I’d definitely recommend it to friends.

Lovely hotel, our 2nd stay there, the rooms are comfortable and clean, although they did get rather warm and we had to leave the window open.

Our stay was very enjoyable except for the temperature in the room. It was extremely hot and the temperature could not be lowered and a window could not be opened. I would suggest the rooms be less heated. The heat made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep as well as get ready after a shower.

The staff was very friendly. However they didn’t tell that breakfast would be at a discount if purchased at the hotel the night before. The rooms were incredibly hot with no way cool down or open the windows

We were late to check in due to delays with flights, we was so excited to arrive at the hotel they even gave us a small discount voucher for food. Then we got to our room which was in an area away from the other “normal” rooms almost like this was a staff area. The hotel room had no lights just lamps, it was freezing cold, small and hadn’t been cleaned properly. Light fittings were broken as well. We thought we would go to a nicer hotel this time but turns out some of the cheaper ones are better than the more expensive ones. Won’t be going back there unfortunately.

I asked for a city view but I was on the 2nd floor looking at the local uni. The hotel and staff were great and helpful, but I would have liked a better view for the upgrade.
That being said I had a great time in Amsterdam, and the location was great. Thank you to the staff at the hotel!
