Great stay at Hotel des Balances. Had a lovely balcony room facing the water. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Located in the middle of everything. Highly recommend, pic on the hotel’s balcony.

By the river, in the heart of old town, super location. Pretty building. Nice toiletries, good coffee and tea supplies. Beautiful view from room balcony. Lack of counter space in bathroom.

Loved our stay at hotel des balances, the location is fabulous yet quiet. The hotel is excellent but for the price point I had expected a slightly larger room, newer bathroom (not a shower/tub combo) and a fitness facility.

Hotel Des Balances is an excellent hotel. We had a room with a terrace where we enjoyed a beautiful view of the river and the iconic bridge, the blue lake, the mountains and of course the city. The hotel restaurant was very good. The room was clean, the staff were very accommodating. We felt safe getting lost in this beautiful city. We’ll stay here again when we go back to Lucerne. Thank you!

The experience of the hotel and the location was beautiful. I felt I was living in a postcard! I booked the double room and it was perfect. The food at hotel was spectacular. The bed in the double room was a king and there was plenty of room to walk and not bump into a piece of furniture. Can’t wait to come back!

We stayed in a room overlooking the river. Room was small (as expected), however they made great use of the space. Beautifully decorated with heaps of storage. Room was super clean, as was the hotel in general. Top notch professional service. Only downside is expensive food, but this is a top quality restaurant and the entire area is expensive as well.

Was a great stay. There isnt really any nightlife in this area (not the hotel’s fault). So if looking for just a nice place to stay around great views, shopping, and restaurants this is a great location. Also close to train station which is very convenient!

This place is amazing and in the heart of everything! The view we had will live rent free in my mind for the rest of my life. If you are staying in Lucern….treat yourself and stay here. The staff is lovely and the property cannot be topped. If you are driving in…deep breaths…you can drive to the door follow your gps or call the front desk and they will guide you in. Pay for the overnight parking…it’s worth it.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Luzern and we absolutely loved it! We had a room with a balcony and view of the river -- it was stunning! The location of the hotel is convenient and easy to get to any restaurant, stores for shopping, and was nearby a Coop which is a hybrid grocery/department store that became handy to have close by. Furthermore, the front desk staff was helpful when I asked for recommendations for lunch and dinner. The hotel is also about an 8-10 minute walk from the train station in Luzern which was convenient. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would recommend staying here to anyone. We will likely come back!

Excellent hotel with friendly staff and very accommodating. We had breakfast and dinner at hotel and all meals were great. It is a pricey hotel but you can’t beat the location and views. We would consider staying here again.

Great location. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are small but manageable. They could not provide room until 1:30PM as we arrived around 9:30 but I am sure someone must have checkout early in morning. Overall fair as the location is great.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel des Balances. Right by the river and Old Town and close to many great sights and restaurants. We loved hanging out in the terrace for drinks with a beautiful view. Great staff, cool rooms during warm weather, and very clean. The tub was a little high for my wife but otherwise everything was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful and clean hotel, located right in the center of all the shopping and restaurants. This hotel has central A/C, which is the main reason why we stayed. The bathroom had lovely Loccitane toiletries, which was sweet. The downstairs restaurant is right by the river, which was amazing! Highly recommend this hotel to everyone and especially to those, who prefer to have A/C in their room.

This is a beautiful hotel with a superb location near the Chapel Bridge. It is a very classy hotel with excellent service. But we were disappointed that our room wasn’t ready and then they put us in a tiny room. We asked to move and spent the following two nights in a lovely room with a very large terrasse. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a historical hotel in a great location but it has been very well maintained and renovated. Suggest you get he Jr Suite as the regular rooms are on the small-side. Also make sure you get a water view

I recently stayed at this hotel and I must say that I was quite impressed with my experience. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly and polite. From the moment I arrived, I felt very welcome and at home. One thing that I did notice was that the room was a little on the small side. However, this was not a major issue for me as I spent most of my time out exploring the city. The location of the hotel is simply fantastic. It is situated in the heart of everything, from shopping to supermarkets and restaurants. Additionally, the hotel is located right beside a lovely river, providing a stunning view and a peaceful atmosphere. What really stood out to me during my stay was the thoughtful gesture of the hotel providing us with delicious candies and tartufi. It was such a nice surprise and really added to the overall experience of our stay. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in the city. Despite the slightly small room size, the hotel's beautiful decor, fantastic staff, prime location, and the delightful treats provided more than make up for it.

My husband and I loved our stay at this hotel. It was hard to leave because it was so comfortable. We had an amazing balcony view overlooking Chapel Bridge and the Jesuit Church. We enjoyed hearing the church bells throughout the day, but some people may prefer to use ear plugs for sleeping. The room decor was simple but elegant, and we appreciated that slippers were provided. This was a great base for exploring Lucerne, and we loved that there was a milk tea spot next door (my husband and I have a tradition where we try to find milk tea whenever we travel).

My boyfriend and I travel a lot and this was our favorite hotel we have ever stayed at. The location was perfect to everything. Train station, city, on the river. Must get a riverview, it was beautiful! The staff, the cleaning staff, the front desk staff and bartenders went over and beyond for us. The rooms were so perfect and cute! We will be coming back!
