Ambassador Lake Tahoe

We booked The Ambassador through Expedia and had a great experience. The place was extremely clean, comfortable, and very well kept. It made our stay in Lake Tahoe relaxing and easy. The rooms were nice, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything felt well taken care of. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a clean and comfortable place during your trip. Everything was walking distance

Clean room and helpful staff

No A/C. It showed you could turn on the cooler, but it wouldn’t turn on. The office was closed when I realized it last night. I turned it on but my thermostat showed the temperature as: 79 degrees before I went to bed. I opened the window & had to leave it open all night. I didn’t like doing that, as I was traveling alone & on 1st floor. Pool’s covered w/ no water in it. Employee did not give the WiFi code, even though they had WiFi. He did give discount tickets for private beach. He also didn’t offer a free upgrade. A lot of properties will, given that I’m a Platinum Expedia member. Back of door in room very dirty. The phone isn’t working in the room either. Was disappointed by several things at this property, but it wasn’t terrible. Just a lot of room for improvement. Front desk mentioned the owner watches surveillance video monitoring of property (kind of creepy), so no working phones, no A/C, no pool, no WiFi code, but the owner makes sure there’s a ton on surveillance. Got it. -Seems like the priorities are off here. Lastly the lights in the room are all VERY bright, and dimmers on lights in the room. -No lamps on nightstands. Overall the rate was fair, $104, I believe. However, the taxes/fees were @ $80. They charge a $60 resort fee, when the place DEFINITELY wasn’t a resort. I find that laughable. Fees make the room nearly twice the price. Definitely overpriced, given that. $100 deposit is also expected. I didn’t hate staying there. I do think it was overpriced.
