The KaIseki breakfast was excellent. Both the food and the service were great. We especially like the dinners. We had 3 dinners during our 3-night stay, each one had a different menu, and was comparable to dinners in Michelin-style restaurants in Hong Kong. We also enjoyed the onsen baths.

Onsen facility too small and too ordinary. Private onsen is too expensive at JPY4500/hour. Many Japanese onsen hotels allow you to book it free of charge so don't understand why you need to pay for it at this hotel. Plus there are many free onsen facilities in this town and there is one just beside the hotel. The roof terrace on 7th Floor is also not opened for use.
Staffs are not well trained so there were mis-communications but when we came back earlier to do check-in at around 2pm - we have arrived the hotel early that day to store our luggage and was told by one of the staffs that we can always come back between 12-3pm to do check-in but in fact when we got back at 2pm, another staff told us we have to wait until 3pm to use the room. So we had to leave and return again at 3:00PM. The check-out also took a long time to complete so please be early if you are in a rush.
We had breakfast and dinner plan but there were nothing special about their food. They served Japanese-western food for dinner and you need to add JPY1980 if you want to have beef for your dinner.
