Parking was awful. Street parking only. Unless you want to pay $50 for a valet that had us waiting for over 30 minutes because they could not find my car

It is a nice and new building. It’s kept clean.
This hotel must be offering hotel vouchers to the unhoused population as in the evenings I saw 4 separate individuals check in who smelled strongly of not having good hygiene, two had dogs, all had carts of bags with belongings. It’s just a weird vibe when on vacation. I went to do laundry and there was a lady talking to herself in the laundry room who appeared unhoused. Sketchy block with a building across the street that has not changed since a 2023 trip to this property with the same mattresses still wrapped in plastic 3 years later. Overall, Oakland has improved since ‘23, but it’s still a work in progress. I was also double charged for one of my 2 rooms this trip. Paid Booking.com and property said I had not and made me pay a second time at check in. Really screwed up my budget and I’m waiting for the extra charges to drop off my credit card. It took 2 days of calling the manager and stopping at the front desk to get any response.
