Near to state parks and the ocean this out of the way stay will be memorable. Fully immersed into the homesteading ways of Southern Humboldt, enjoy the experience of solar power and natural creek water. Take a walk though the woods and enjoy swimming in our private creek.

My husband and I stayed here for two days to get away and also so I could work on my dissertation. It was the perfect setting! The separate studio home was private enough to block out distractions, the view was insane, and the hosts (and the pup!) were very kind and accommodating. We managed to get down to the creek nearby and do a bit of hiking around which was beautiful. My hubby and I said many times how it was a place we would rent for months if we could. Absolutely perfect for someone needing to get away. 10/10

The stay was nice and comfortable. It had good views and was quiet. One thing to note is that it is rather remote and abiut 20-25 miles up country roads. The roads are patched and washboarded where gravel so it was an extra adventure after a full day of hiking and a full meal. You would want to take any supplies you might need with you because you probably wouldn't make a quick trip into town. The hosts were nice and communicative so I would recommend this stay! They have natural spring fed water which was refreshing.

Beautiful property!! a wonderful setup in the mountains!! Sara was so sweet and so was dog stanley! would recommend getting there before dark as it is up in the hills!

It is a beautiful out in the woods feeling and unbelievably quiet and starry skies at night. Directions refer to "park in front of water tanks" - we could not see them but there is a old white trailer parked in front that is a good marker! A previous review had it right, it's glamping. We had no refrigerator or ice, heater was not working at first. No one responded to the intercomb (as mentioned in check-in info) by the gate. We walked down, steep but doable for just a 2 night stay and not too much luggage. Bedding was clean but stained. Comphy bed! Shower was GREAT! Adequate kitchen stuff. It is a true "away from it all" experience. Hosts did help us out on second day with fixing the heat and making arrangements to drive our "stuff" UP the steep driveway for our departure! Thank you!
