I stayed one short night at the Phoenix Park Hotel. The hotel is perfectly located, directly across from Union Station. The staff is friendly and efficient. The room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable (I had a King room), and impeccably clean.
There is a 24/7 coffee and tea station, although the coffee is unfortunately quite poor.
Sadly, despite being housed in a historic building and carrying the "Historic Hotels of America" designation, the hotel lacks charm, character, and a distinct sense of identity.

Convenient to the Union Train Station. Quiet. Walking distance to Capital and the Mall. Staff great. And fun pub attached.
