This is the email i sent when we were trying to check in. We checked in finally a hour and 30min later
Hello,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service we received upon our recent arrival at your resort. Despite having made a reservation and being assured that our room would be ready by a certain time, we were informed upon arrival that our room was not ready, with no indication of when it might be available.
This lack of preparedness alone would have been frustrating enough, but what truly struck the issue was the complete lack of sympathy or apology from the staff at the front desk. My husband and I traveled three hours to reach your resort, only to be met with inconvenience upon our arrival.
To make matters worse, the staff failed to provide any sort of time frame for when our room might be ready. This forced us to cancel our dinner reservations, as we were unwilling to further delay our evening plans without any assurance of when we might be accommodated.
As paying guests, we expected a level of professionalism and courtesy that was sorely lacking in this instance. The failure to communicate effectively and the absence of any acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused is unacceptable from a establishment of your caliber.Additionally, we requested some sort of goodwill to acknowledge the inconvenience and disappointment we experienced during our stay but was only told a hour added to check out. Luckily the overall romm was enjoyable.

When we arrived at 4:05, the room was not ready. It appears no one room was ready. The was cleanliness was 3 stars because as I was doing my own cleaning, I noted hair was in different areas, the jetted tub jets didn't work. The room was absolutely freezing, the thermostat was apparently broken. We turned the air up to 76, it still read 69, then we turned the unit off and it was still blowing ice cold air. Thank God we was only there for 1 night. Also the furniture in there is quite dated.

I thought I was renting a king room. Got to the room and it was not. Then around 11 pm connecting room was NOISY. We packed up and front desk let us move to another building. Same there. All service folks were excellent. I just do not want to share a room with others. Would not recommend

Service at the front desk was amazing. We checked in very late and they were extremely accommodative. Parking is terrible at the resort. If you get there late at night. Room was nice, but there was some food on the counter from the previous guest. Overall I would recommend and I would stay again.

Place needs total remodeling. Looks old as the hills. Was there in 97' and it is the same literally 🤔 grounds are beautiful and pools great!

Hotel is definetly average for rooms. I had many issues starting with the sofa bed not closing or opening so my daughter had to sleep on the mattress that l squeezed out of it. I called every day and even went to the front desk. They said they would take care of it and I ended up checking out with it still broken. Second they charged me for extra towels. It was raining when we checked in so we tracked water in. My babies kept falling in the water so i grabbed some towels because there was no mop. I probably wont book this hotel again.

My stay begins with our toilet overflowing in the main bathroom, which means that’s how house keeping left it. Then the line to the phone where broken couldn’t even call to complain about the bathroom. Not enough shampoo or conditioner and wanted to charge for extra. Same with coffee. Didn’t have enough coffee to get us to the last day and same they wanted to charge for coffee that is complimentary in every other hotel, weird smell when we came, all in all not very happy with the stay, and to top it off I was told that instead of checking out at 10am we can check out at 11 for all the inconvenience we had to deal with…really?? Wow

Lights in room didn't work Jets in Jacuzzi didn't work. Found hair on floor in line cing room, toilet and Jacuzzi tub

The floors were so dirty that our feet were black from walking around barefoot. The jacuzzi jets didn’t work. There was a funky smell in the room. There were just a lot of little things that made it look kinda junky. I do appreciate the ease of check in and check out and the huge bed was nice.

Front desk staff was amazing, although answering the phone not to well. Cleaning staff does not speak a single word of English so this is extremely challenging. Food options aren't bad but could have so more inclusive options.
Spa has a segregated service so you can be totally comfortable without others seeing you. Staff at the spa were good.

It was nice , however there was a stain on one of the beds which looked disgusting. Then it was soaking wet outside the walkway of our room and the elevator. There was also a piece of hair behind the bathroom door and on the shower rod. The staff was nice and friendly. Just needs some much needed repair and updating.

The property looked amazing. The actual rooms were dirty. They provided of each towels, wash cloths and hand towels. Our stay was 3 nights. If you wanted more linens, you had to pay $7 more each day. So the first night was the only night they were included. Should have been included for beach night stay. The air conditioning didn’t work. It felt like you were in an indoor pool area. So humid in the rooms. Housekeeping was very rude. I wouldn’t recommend this property or stay again.

The resort is nice. The petit family suite is a little dated. It could be better. The place was clean. But the check in was terrific. I know it was the day before New Years Eve, but we waited more than 3 hours for the room. I also requested ahead on time, for a suite on ground floor or with an elevator available and they ended gave us a second floor room with stairs and no elevator.

When we arrived we had to sweep the floor for all the dirt. We asked for our floors to be mopped, took them 2 days to come. The toilet over flowed onto the floor day 4 and it took them over an hour and 4 phone calls to come clean it. The stove had 2 burners not working. The sheets on the bed were dirty. No hand soap or toilet paper, had to ask several times. The property itself is nice, watch out for raccoons, everywhere!

It was the perfect value for what we needed. Place was clean, staff were great. Great location made it easy to get to all theme parks. My only complaint was not Star Island's issue. The weather was too cold for the pool. In the 40's when we woke up in the mornings. I wish the pools could be heated to a higher temperature. It was way too cold to swim.

The Property overall was very nice but it definitely neededs to be Updated and remodeled Kitchen cabinets were slightly warped and had some water damaged from over the years and the shower had Broken and cracked tiles that were just Lightly repetched in the shower Set up a pending machines need to be updated for work done as well i try to buy drinks and they Locked up my brake in account coz it was over charging me for one drink plus Management needs to do better care at booking rooms because my wife and i were sent to a room that was Already occupied and the The staff of the front desk were not very welcoming and didn't care if we would come back or not didn't even ask if we Enjoy your stay

The shower was lack lusting and water wasn't hot at all. Was luke warm at best. Plus arrived at check in and was told my room wasn't ready. Had to wait 45 minutes after check in to get the keys. For the price of the room. These things didn't sit right with me.

Upon arriving to our building, we realized there are no elevators and we are located on the third floor. I hurt myself making multiple heavyweight trips to the third floor with my luggage. The staircase had a horrible stench of sewer. Upon entering our room, it was noticeably dirty and grimy. The bed in the main bedroom has sticky soda stains on the headboard and weird black streak on one of the pillows. The floors were visibly dirty. There was dust and crumbs all over. The furniture was weirdly moist and filthy. We called for maintenance which took over an hour to get everything situated. Even after maintenance visited, the suite was still dirty. We decided to only stay one night out of three, and decided to stay a much better and different resort. Will never recommend this resort to ANYONE. Absolutely embarrassing.

I had to leave the hotel after first night because it was a raining night and for my surprise also it was raining inside my room the condition of the hotel is terrible. Do not recommend and never come back.

My family and I showed at 4 pm, the advertised check in time. We were told we would be called when our room was ready. At 7:30, I went to ask if we had a room yet because I still had no call. They had rooms ready. We booked a room with 2 bed and a pullout. We were placed in a room with a single queen and a pullout for a family of 5. Another 2 hours later, 9:30 at night, after unpacking in one room, repacking in the car, we are placed in a room with 2 beds and a pool out.
The new room was dirty, had a broken phone, the shower leaked water all over, and the front door handle was loose. It took me going to the front desk 3 times and 3 days before I was able to finally get a working phone.
When talking to the front desk manager, he offered me a $25 GC to spend there. What an insult! His suggestion was to offer me two days with no resort fees, again $30 for me waiting 5 hours to get to my room. The bill now shows a refund of $30 and an expense of $30. So basically, he charged me $30 to refund me $30. Terrible management that thought I was an idiot.

The beds were comfortable. The amenities at the property were great.
Customer service was probably the worse part that I didn’t feel was the best. Our air-conditioning was broken. When we checked in, we called maintenance and they came up. The maintenance man said he was only able to do so much and we would have to wait till the morning. we asked him for some fans and he said he would get them. An hour later we were told that they didn’t have fans. So we had to sleep in the unit without air-conditioning, which was very uncomfortable.
I went to the front desk the next morning and explain the situation, and the woman told me I needed to go back up to my room and call maintenance on the phone. I asked why she wouldn’t be able to get a hold of maintenance because I’m standing at the front desk and you could tell it was an inconvenience for her.
We had eight people in our unit and we needed to get three extra blankets. I called housekeeping and I was told their policy was only two blankets per day extra. I said we had four children and one of them was not going to sleep without a blanket. She continued to insist that was their policy. So my kid had to use a sheet for the night instead of a blanket.
The unit that we stayed in was definitely older and not cleaned as well.
Overall, I give the stay at C+. We should have gotten a credit for one night necause of the air conditioning and blanket issue.

I stayed in a one bedroom and pre-paid for the room before I arrived. Check in was fast but they never gave me a parking pass. The bathroom was in the bedroom so visitors had to pass through my room to use it. I requested more towels but i was only there 5 nights so they charge 7$ if u don’t stay 7 days. U have to keep rewashing towels if u want clean ones. The WiFi kept going in and out especially when it rained. Maintenance had to be called because the tv was not working on the last day of my trip. Depending on what time u call the front desk no one answered. I called and asked for a mop for a spill they did not have one someone came and used a towel. The bar on the resort closed at 11. Lastly they were fixing the unit upstairs from me and made alot of noise it was hard to sleep In especially with the leaf blower on at 7am.

I think even one star rating is too generous. The room service was terrible, and the room phone didn't work. I requested it to be fixed, but there was no action taken for 6 days. It needs to pay for extra towels and the sewer smell in the bathroom was very bad. They also didn't accommodate my request to change rooms. Our family trip to Florida has become a very terrible memory. Just think of it as being in a motel with a poor level of condition.

Honestly, it is a resort, but the hotel rooms were terrible quality. There was blood, stains, and holes on the sheets, pillows and towels. The only garbage can in the whole room was the bathroom trash can. The sink is old and hardwood floors.

I chose this resort based on the excellent reviews on Google and Expedia, but the reality was different. We vist florida every December and that was my first and worst stay in star Island, I will start from the big water puddle front of the room I thought it will dry soon but it didn't. They gave us 2 double and sofa. The pillows was horrible, sofa gave us back and neck pain . Tv old . BTH was stinky and smells very bad the sink drainage does not drain. The water not hot just worm. The main door was very hard to open. In general this property need a lot of maintenance and care.
The pools were good
Food is very pricey 4 sandwiches for with fries 90 dollars. There was a hidden fee 200 dollars they did not mention when I made the booking. For us I will never return to this resort in my life and never recommend it for any on.

I loved the spa services, pools, and outside activities. I appreciated that doing laundry was free. The room was amazing. I did find 2 bugs, but mainly a great stay.
