Decent stay in Brisbane. Air-con was a bit weak in the humid Queensland heat

Staff very friendly and helpful with my requests .

Good budget accommodation close to Fortitude Valley. Will hold luggage before and after check in/out if needed. Easy walk to the Valley transport, shops and night life.

Dirty and disgusting not only did they mess up my booking for twin room with two single beds the fix was to put a mattress on the dirty floor.

Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. One of the cheapest hotels in Brisbane for a reason.
Very basic, limited facilities in the room. Took half a day for the air conditioning to be useful and another day for it to be comfortable.
Close to the train station and far enough from the "action" to not be disturbed.

A basic room is just that very basic. In summer recommend paying the extra to have a room with aircon otherwise it’s like trying to sleep in a sauna

Cons -1. I arrived 15 mins before check in time and was told to go and come back.
2. I Went out after checking in and went back late at night to sleep and the air conditioner was making loud noises which stopped me from sleeping even when I turned it off completly. I Could not find any afterhours instructions anywhere in the hotel, I spoke to someone else staying at the hotel and she didnt know what to do either, so I decided to call the managers phone which was on the wall for emergencies. Instead of helping he got angry and said why are you calling at this time, this number is for emergencies and hang up. I ended up falling asleep around 3.30am and only for a few hours because of it. At check out the manager refused to acknowledge the issue or go and have a look at it with me and insisted he would go alone and check it out, he came back and blamed it on 'rain drops' haha. He gave me a refund form anyway, after I sent it back he refused the refund once again blaming 'rain drops', didnt even give a partial refund.
3- There is limited parking at the hotel, maybe 5-7 spots from memory. I had to park on the street overnight which is paid parking, the next morning I had a $309 fine as the officers had been out at like 8.30am!
4- There was 2 towels in the room and both were dirty. Luckily I had my own towels with me.
Pros- Front of the hotel is nice with couple of tables and chairs at the front of the hotel to sit.
2- Room was clean apart from the towels and bit of dust

Great self-contained little room with a great balcony and easy access. It’s got thin floors/walls so the sounds of those around you are loud. But they’ve done a great job of making it as comfortable and welcoming as possible

the property really is a mildly upmarket back packers facility. It was ok for the Money and is very conveniently located
Sheets and bed covers were not washed to hotel standards, and infact appeared unwashed although i am sure they were

Nice little place close to RNA showgrounds. Bed was nice and comfy.

we were in a non smoking room, but putting on the aircon sucked in smoke from the downstairs open area where smokers gathered.
also that made sitting on the balcony out of the options.

It’s such a great property and the staff is awesome too. They really need more parking or a shuttle to a car park or something. The shared bathrooms could be more kept up but overall it is a fantastic place.

Standard twin bed room with share bathroom. (ie One toilet and one shower on my floor.) Free wifi available. Room also included tea, coffee, kettle, bar fridge, ceiling fan, (cold water tap) sink, mirror. Basic table & 2 chairs. Basic open wardrobe, drawers. No locker facilities. Reasonable walking distance to shopping/dining areas and train station. Reception had some basic items for sale, but not accessible after hours. Overall it was OK for a short stay, basic but reasonably clean and secure.

Love the atmosphere, such character for an older building. Staff were friendly.

Neat, clean, tidy and comfortable with some onsite parking available. Close to Fortitude Valley and nightlife if that’s your thing.
Receptionist was very friendly and even called me to share that parking had become available which was above and beyond.
Served my needs for a comfy, safe place to sleep on an overnight stay.

Clean but a rundown hotel, just need bit of love in renovation but other than that it was a good stay.

Can tell management are trying to do improvements but old, dated and current state rundown. But was reasonably quiet and if you want better pay more $$$ elsewhere.

Its beautiful outdoor area. And very nice lady in the reception. I felt like the cleanliness of the bathroom could be slightly improved. Comparing april 2022 it was absolutely spotless but in oct 2023 felt the cleanliness though it was getting done every mornings i felt like as the day went in the night sometimes wasn't great which didnt seem to happen the previous year but maybe the previous year had more females on vacation and females usually keep things clean and smelling good even when they use them like the toilet for example.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean enough. The place is very old, and the door to my room didn't lock properly. Poor communication from staff is my biggest gripe thiugh I tried to call the day beforehand during office hours to ask if an early check-in was possible as I had an early flight into brisbane. The call went to voicemail. I left my number and asked for a call back, and they never did. It was very frustrating as I have arthritis and if I'd

Being in the CBD, the hotel is very centrally located. Our room and bathroom was neat and tidy - however both could use a decent renovation.
All of the staff were helpful and friendly.
Thank you all!

The police were there all night. Making a lot of noise until midnight.

Good value. Could do with some maintenance. Limited parking. Clean

Incredibly old, room ridiculously tiny, no transport, no nearby shops, rundown and simply not a pleasant place to stay.

Staff and cleanliness was good but property had lot of cockroaches. This requires deep cleaning

You get what you pay for. however I think no matter how cheap the hotel, feeling safe is a bare minimum. When we returned after hours we had people outside the hotel asking us to let them in who probably didn’t even stay there. We stayed in the loft which was isolated upstairs by a stairway leading to our room. at 2am we had someone trying to open our locked door. Maybe a sign indicating that the door leads to a bedroom would be good as you wouldn’t know it’s a guest room just looking at it. windows didn’t shut fully and couldn’t lock. Receptionist was lovely and the staff seemed nice when we saw them.

Conveniently located close to the city and public transport

The accomodation was fine considering its budget price. Only complaints are around the other guests there weren't considerate of others sleeping.

I have stayed there before and went back as it was good value for what I was after. Good sized rooms. Friendly and helpful staff that do what they can for anyone who stays there. And there is access to many places all around, restaurants, shops, cafes and more.

Very old style and rustic accommodation and great service

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Luckily, I took our luggage to the hotel earlier than anticipated as, had we arrived later, reception was closed and I wouldn’t have known we’d need access to a lockbox to get our keys. We’d had a bad experience once before with a lockbox at a hotel in Sydney so I was quite relieved we didn’t have to go through that again. As our daughter made the booking for us, I wasn’t aware of any instructions on the website for those circumstances.

Very noisy. Windows were thin (and so lots of traffic noise). Doors (inc. connecting doors) were thin (so lots of noise from TVs etc. from other rooms). Even at midnight... Then at 5:00am for over 40 minutes (next door's alarm, they stayed up until after midnight, then couldn't get up at 5...) The connecting doors mean I can hear the next door people having a grand ol' conversation with lots of swearing, the TV etc.
"Shared bathroom" is a single shower with only two hooks for clothing/towels. At least the shower head was not fixed. There was also a single toilet (at least not in the same room as the shower, so both could be used at once).
Oh, and the light. Light came from both connecting rooms, under and around the doors. And of course from the hall. And the fire alarm blinked all night, very brightly.
The wifi Internet is inconsistent, but mostly works (7/10).
Blinds don't open.
The "desk" is a wobbly table, not fit for use as a stable place to study or work, and barely fit as a place to put a cuppa.
But it's not all bad! The room had a sink, fridge, kettle, and two mugs and plates (but no way to clean them, and they aren't cleaned for you). Also tea bags, sugar, instant coffee, and UHT tiny milk things. The bed appears clean and comfy enough.
The room generally (including floor) seem reasonably clean. Except for the cockroaches.

The chap at reception was lovely, friendly and professional.
The room was a single bed and queen bed which I booked for me and my two kids.
Both beds had broken biscuit pieces under the covers, so either they had not been washed and changed, or this was done by the staff as some kind of practical joke.
The shower door was broken hanging off the slide rails, and a broken window had some flimsy cardboard over the gap.
I’m fine with this in a busy hostel charging $40 a night but this was awful considering the room prices.
The guy at reception was the saving grace and if not for him I would rate with zero stars. Other rooms may be better, but avoid 39 if you have to stay here.

Close to transport. Very noisy
