You will find Mountain Biking, hiking, swimming and many other adventures in every direction. Chef’s delight eat-in, fully stocked, kitchen with loads of custom Alder cabinets, plenty of granite countertop space, stainless steel appliances, large center island, walk-in pantry, and hardwood birch floods extending into the dining room with walkout doors to a partially covered back deck, overlooking pine tree studded woods. The pictures do not do this house justice. It is a large, new home with all the bells and whistles (great sound system in living room). Driving up, we could not believe that this was our place for a few days. The master bedroom is large with a remote-controlled fireplace. The master bath is enormous with a huge closet and double shower. The kitchen is the most well-stocked of any short term rental I have ever seen. We did a lot of cooking. Big, new washer/dryer. Every single morning we were there the deer would come to eat in the backyard and we could lounge in the living room watching them. So peaceful. It’s a short hop to Hill City. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. The check-in process was so easy. I cannot recommend this property enough. If it wasn’t a 10 hour drive from our home, we’d be there often! I can’t imagine staying in another short-term rental or VRBO that measures up to this one.

Our stay was a disaster. The property manager failed to communicate with us, through your site, which is the site that I made the reservations on. The phone number she provided on your site was disconnected and we did not receive instructions to access the house on the day we were supposed to occupy the property. I received cryptic emails that the property was ready but no instructions attached and no reply communication. We were required to make alternate reservations at a hotel at the last minute on a weekend in which all the hotels were booked for a soccer tournament. We are disputing all charges to our credit card. Despite my repeated requests on October 21 to call my telephone number, the property manager did not. I did not hear from her until the afternoon of October 22, after which time we were already required to make alternate reservations at a hotel in Rapid City. I would never rent from this person again.

We LOVED staying in this house! We're a family of 4 (two adult children) It was beautiful, well appointed with everything we needed, comfortable, spacious. Loved spending time with our family and extended family who were also in the Black Hills in other locations. Our rental was the gathering spot in the evenings and it couldn't have been better. Also loved the central location for Black Hills fun and the proximity to Hill City. We would absolutely rent here again.

This lodge was a lovely place to stay, nestled in the hills of South Dakota. We were blown away by the exceptional interior and attention to detail in both design and furnishing. We came away with a lot of respect for the owners! We saw deer outside our window every day and you could even see horses grazing out in the distance. We would 100% stay here again, only we would stay longer next time. It was only about 19-23 minutes to Rapid City, Mount Rushmore, and the Needles Highway — easy commute to all of the major attractions. Highly recommend.
