Everything about our stay at the Guesthouse by The Rex was exceptional. Even though the Guesthouse is their "2 star" property adjacent to the main hotel, we felt like we got 4 star treatment. The staff were all wonderful with great suggestions for how to spend our time in and around Zermatt. The breakfast was fantastic. And having a view of the Matterhorn from our little attic window in room 9 was the icing on the cake. 10 out of 10. I would absolutely stay here again.
Zermatt and the surrounding mountains have earned a spot as one of my favorite places I've ever visited, and our stay at The Rex played a big part in that.
As a 5'11" (180 cm) tall person, I had to duck going in and out of the bathroom. But I knew from the reviews ahead of time that there were some low doorways in these attic rooms in the Guesthouse. Honestly, I didn't mind it... it sort of added to the charm. But it's something to be aware of.
