Set along the banks of the Big Deschutes River, The Lodge at River Trails is a spacious, dog-friendly riverfront home surrounded by pines and National Forest land. With a private hot tub, game room, kayaks, and multiple outdoor living spaces, it’s an ideal Central Oregon basecamp for families, couples, and groups looking to relax and explore.

This comfortable, well-appointed riverfront home blends rustic lodge vibes with modern convenience. Large windows bring in forest and river views, while multiple living areas give everyone room to spread out after a day outdoors.
There is a gas indoor fireplace for easy, cozy evenings (no wood required).

• Upstairs King Suite – Spa-style ensuite bathroom with steam shower and tub/shower combo
• Downstairs Bunk Room – Queen-over-Queen bunk with patio access
• Downstairs Guest Room – Queen bed + two Twin beds, ideal for families
Each bedroom has its own Roku Smart TV. Additional TVs are located in the main living room, lower family room, and game room (5 total).

The fully stocked kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, coffee grinder, waffle iron, crock pot, and everything needed for home-cooked meals. The rustic wood dining table seats 8+ and is perfect for shared meals, board games, and gathering after a day on the river.

🔥 Fire Pit & Firewood (Important)
The home has an outdoor fire pit, but firewood is not provided. Guests may purchase firewood locally.
Outdoor fires are regulated by the La Pine Fire District, and seasonal restrictions are common, especially in summer and early fall. Guests must call the La Pine Rural Fire Protection District burn line before using the fire pit to confirm whether fires are allowed during their stay. Burn status can change daily based on conditions.
🎣 Fishing & River Access
The property sits directly on the Big Deschutes River, with easy river access from the backyard. Fishing from the riverfront is popular, with both fly fishing and spin fishing depending on season and conditions. Just minutes away is Fall River, known for world-class fly fishing, along with Fall River Falls — a scenic and easy hike. A valid Oregon fishing license is required. Licenses are easy to purchase online or at local sporting goods stores in Sunriver or Bend, and current regulations apply to the Deschutes River.

We love dogs! Well-behaved pups are welcome with prior approval and an additional pet fee. Please let us know in advance if your dog(s) will be joining you. Please note: Neither the front yard nor backyard is fenced.

Communication with property host for this rental was easy and effective. Any issue with the unit was promptly addressed in a satisfactory fashion. It is on the river, however, as is explained in provided materials, one has to walk down the bank in order to get into the river. The unit is great for families with many activities within the house and kayaks for the river. It is off the beaten track a touch - a drive to Redmond airport (45 minutes) and Bend restaurants and activities (30 minutes), but, it was close to Mt. Bachelor, Sunriver and La Pine. Lots of wildlife in the area, so drive slow at night. Thank you for use of the property! Highest recommendation!

Absolutely fantastic house on the river. House was bright and light. I can’t pick what was my favorite, the hot tub or the steam shower. The kitchen is laid out perfectly (bring your own spices, including S&P). Large living space on both floors. Having a bbq on the deck overlooking the river was such a treat. Comfortable furniture throughout house. Forest land adjacent to house is great for a short dog walk. You can tell how much this house is loved by the owners. This is by far one of my favorite VRBO rentals. Willis the Wonderdoodle gives it 4 paws up. They even had a dog bowl!

This home was absolutely amazing! It truly was. The home was very well stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen has the cutest dishes and has everything you need to cook. There were plenty of towels, the steam shower was wonderful, and the beds are So Comfortable! The home is very clean, and set up just perfect. We would stay here again in a heart beat! You can tell the minute you walk into this home, that it is a special place.
