Situated on a quiet street on the 6th block of the island's East Side, guests enjoy a short walk to the beach and only 5 block stroll down to Center Street. An inverted floor plan offers 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor, a 4th Bedroom on the 2nd (main) floor, and a 5th suite on the top 3rd floor. Driftwood features gorgeous hardwood floors throughout the house; a spacious, entertaining kitchen consisting of a wrap-around peninsula with an island that opens up to the dining and living areas. It also includes a gas range, more than enough counter space for preparing meals for family and friends, plenty of seating between kitchen and porch tables, and four additional bar stools off the counter. Although not confirmed by the city, work is expected to start around early March until mid-August 2024 and will be focused one block at a time. While we expect this to be a net positive to everyone (more sand and larger beaches), there is a small chance that your closest beach access point may be impacted during your stay. The city hasn't provided any further information on more precise dates, scheduling, or sequencing. But you can stay informed with the latest by visiting the City of Folly Beach's website. If the noise level exceeds the legal limit for FB, you will receive a friendly reminder text message to turn the noise down. This will help avoid any violations with the FB police that can result in a $500 fine as well as result in major penalties for the homeowner. The Folly Beach NOISE ORDINANCE is from 10 pm to 8 am. Each property is listed with the maximum occupancy for the home (number the house sleeps). House parties, weddings, functions, events, bands, DJ's, etc. are prohibited. Please remember to be kind and courteous to your neighbors and your contract states that the use of premises shall not disturb or offend surrounding residents. If the occupancy is misrepresented or a disturbance is reported at the property, we reserve the right to terminate your rental agreement and will require that you vacate the property immediately, without refund.
