Recently remodeled with chic, modern beach-inspired décor, this spacious 4-bedroom, 2-bath hilltop retreat sleeps up to 12 and offers the perfect home base for experiencing Lake McConaughy—without sacrificing space, comfort, or serenity.
Spend the day exploring Lake Mac's famous sandy beaches, then escape back to the hill. Fire up the Blackstone, watch eagles soar past the house, catch an unforgettable Nebraska sunset, and end the evening beneath a sky full of stars.

From the moment you arrive, you'll understand where Lookout gets its name.
Perched high above the surrounding landscape, the home feels peaceful and tucked away from the busier areas around Lake Mac. Wide-open views surround you, birds and eagles regularly pass through, and the quiet makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the people you're here with.
Summer thunderstorms rolling across the horizon can be just as spectacular as the sunsets—and when the sky clears, Lookout's secluded setting makes for incredible stargazing.
It's a different side of the Lake Mac experience, and one of our favorite parts of this home.
💧 IMPORTANT: CURRENT LAKE CONDITIONS
Lake McConaughy is a working reservoir, and water levels can change dramatically from season to season.
Following this year's recent drought and low reservoir levels, there is currently no water directly in front of Lookout Lake House. The former shoreline below the hill has transformed into a wide-open natural landscape with greenery.

If water level or shoreline location is important to your vacation, we strongly encourage you to check current Lake McConaughy conditions before booking.

You can still have the Lake Mac beach day you came for!
Van's Lakeview and Dunes Beach are approximately 10–15 minutes from the house and offer access to the beautiful, pure sandy beaches Lake McConaughy is famous for.
Pack the cooler, chairs, and beach towels, spend the day on the sand and water, then head back to Lookout for a quiet evening away from the crowds.
Beach access and sand conditions can change throughout the season. AWD/4WD is recommended when accessing areas requiring driving on sand, and guests should always check current conditions before heading out.

PLEASE NOTE:
- NO PETS
- MAX OCCUPANCY: 12 guests.
- Propane is not provided; you will need to bring your own to use the fire pit
- Wood burning fires are prohibited on the property due to fire danger regulations set by Keith County.
- Camping is not permitted on property or on the private neighborhood beach.
- One of our family members who uses the home has a service dog. We do clean extensively between each stay. As such we cannot guarantee the home is 100% pet allergy free. Thank you for understanding!
- We HIGHLY recommend 4-wheel or all-wheel drive when accessing the private neighborhood beach in front of the house, otherwise, you will get stuck and will need a tow.
- All guests must be clearly accounted for on the reservation.
- If there are guests who stay over night and exceed the guest count per the reservation, we will assess an additional $100 per night/ per guest charge.

Beautiful views and beautiful, clean spacious home! The location is pretty far from the nearest stores/gas station (20-30mins) so be sure you stock up on all supplies to avoid several trips. The cliff drive up the drive way was a little scary but part of the landscape. I do wish checkout time was a little later than 10 am especially for guests who traveled this far out. Other than that we’d definitely come back with our kiddos. Felt like home for sure!

Wonderful clean home with plenty of room and fantastic views. Home is well marked with instructions and has all the things you need. Home is a bit remote but worth the drive.

Dog hair covered all the furniture, even tho there’s a no pet policy.
