Located in Michigan City, this lovely house for $527 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Bedrooms 5 | 2 Lofts | Bathrooms 5 | Sleeps 18 When you first drive up to the house you will notice the white picket fence and sunny exterior colors. Walk into the home and you will be met by double height ceilings and a massive stone fireplace. Under the Sun (Main House) offers four bedrooms, a loft and four bathrooms. The upstairs Master bedroom has a king-sized bed with an additional single day bed. The downstairs have the following bed configurations; #1 has two single beds and a trundle #2 has a queen-sized bed, #3 has a queen-sized bed. The loft has two single beds and a trundle. The main house will easily accommodate (12) people. The kitchen has a long island perfect for setting up buffet meals and overflow seating. The kitchen table will seat 8. The kitchen is fully furnished so if you are interested in cooking meals, everything you need to prepare a meal is there. We offer extras such as blender, waffle maker, crock pot and an electric griddle. All bed linens and towels are supplied. "Over The Moon" guest house can accommodate 6 guests with 2 twins in the bedroom, 2 twins and a trundle in the loft, and a sleeper sofa in the living area. The fully stocked kitchen makes for the perfect combination with the main house for large family gatherings. Enjoy the outdoors on the back deck or the front screen porch. Under the Sun is centrally located across the street from the swimming pool and a short walk to Sandcastle Park or Lake Michigan. IN THE LATE FALL, WINTER AND EARLY SPRING, UNDER THE SUN BECOMES SCRAPPIN FUN UNDER THE SUN! Experience a relaxing weekend getaway where you can work on your favorite craft with no distractions. Whether it is scrapping, quilting, stamping or beading, Scrapping Fun, Under the Sun will provide you with all the comforts of home. We are a mid- west retreat conveniently located in Michigan City, Indiana just 60 miles from Chicago. Our home is located in a beautiful, unique community called Beachwalk Resort. Here you will find colorful cottages that line the streets. Lake Michigan is an easy stroll from our front door, with shopping, restaurants, casinos and grocery stores just minutes away. Scrapping Fun, Under the Sun, a self-service retreat. What we mean by that, is there will be no on-site hostess. The weekend is on your terms, on your schedule. You can dine out or make your meals in our fully functional kitchen. Catered meals can be arranged for you if you do not want to spend any time in the kitchen. Although you will not have an on-site hostess, the Beachwalk office staff will be there to assist you with your keys and any other questions that you may have concerning the house or the area. At each table, you will enjoy four feet of scrapping space and a padded chair. Your workspace will be illuminated with an OTT light and a cup holder with a garbage bag so that you can keep your area clean. To help you finish your pages with a creative flair we offer the following tools: Cricut Expression with over 24 cartridges (please email me if you would like the list). PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MATS. Creative Memories cutting system, Sizzix machine and die cuts, decorative scissors, embossing system, clear stamps, and an assortment of punches. We used to come just for a long weekend and our most recent stay we ended up staying the whole week which we will now do moving forward. Anne really goes out of her way to make you feel welcome.

Thanks for a very enjoyable stay over Labor Day weekend at Under the Sun and Over the Moon. Our group of 13 including 3 families had a great third annual visit to Beachwalk and third rental house. The positives of this property:-A very central and convenient location right across from the pool and adjacent the community party with live weekend music -The large 2-story living room area was great for gathering as is the kitchen -The kitchen is one of the best equipped kitchens we’ve stayed at - lots of great supplies and appliances -The setup of the rear exterior is terrific - nice outdoor dining, grilling and fire pit The negatives:-The interior of the house including its furniture, decor and in particular it’s carpeting needs a refresh -The furniture in Over the Moon / the coach house needs a different setup to make it more accommodating for families. The first floor bedroom really needs a queen or king-size bed instead of 2 twin beds.

Loved the location -- close to office, pool, the Beach Hut, playground, beach. Home was clean, except (strangely) the tile floor was filthy -- I mean ruin-the-little-ones'-socks filthy. We scrubbed it with a bucket and mop provided. (Too much work for vacation!) Also, the coffee maker leaked badly -- had to keep a mug under the spout while brewing and transfer to a carafe. Still, overall a very good experience.

The location of this property could not be better! It is across from pool and Beachwalk amenities. It was right on Beachwalk Lane, just a short walk to the beach. The sleeping arrangements worked very well for our family and guests. The property was not cleaned appropriately. We called management and they came right over and re-cleaned. The grounds were very poorly kept. The TV was terrible, but you are not there to watch TV! Well stocked with beach chairs and games.

We chose "Under the Sun" for our family vacation in August. Eight adults and 2 children enjoyed all the wonderful outdoor/indoor spaces to relax. Especially appreciated that each bedroom had its own bathroom.You couldn't find a better location-right across from the pools, cafe and close to all amenities. It was also a short walk to the beach. A Wagon and beach chairs were provided. What a great place to make family vacation memories.

We had a fabulous vacation at Beachwalk in the lovely "Under the Sun." We have been to Beachwalk 5 or 6 times and we love the amenities and the gorgeous beach. The home was a great place for our three families to relax. It's a lot more spacious than it appears from the street. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 8 kids to spread out. It was very nicely decorated with comfortable beds and furnishings. Hope to stay there again next summer. Very convenient location right across from the pool and playground.

We loved the location of the home & we truly appreciated how well-stocked & well-planned the house & guest house were. Our only wish would be for a better sleeper sofa in the guest house. Otherwise, everything was perfect. We are grateful to the Kelly's for sharing their wonderful home!

In July of 2019 for the 1st time my family of 18 (ages 8 to 70) stayed at the Beachwalk Resort for 4 nights in the rentals Under the Sun and Over the Moon. The house was beautiful (well furnished and very clean) and right across from the pool. The resort personnel was very pleasant and helpful. The kids and the adults loved it and had a great time. We are already planning a week stay next year.

Our group of gals had a fantastic time! Tables, chairs, Ott lights, side kicks already there! Punches, Cricut machine with cartridges, Creative Memories custom cutting system and other tools there at your disposal. Owner goes above and beyond to make sure your group has every convenience for your scrapbooking/card making getaway and to make it memorable. Bedrooms - so warm, inviting, cozy and comfortable. Same with the kitchen/dinette area. We wouldn't think of having our retreat at any other place.

This was the third rental for my family and "Under the Sun" far exceeded our expectations!It was clean, well equipped, tastefully decorated and centrally located. The screened in porch and back deck made for lovely outdoor time. The only negative was that one wagon was broken when we arrived and the second one broke down mid-week...we were able to fix that one, however. Periwinkle's was only used twice, but much enjoyed, especially for coffee and treats as we headed home on our last day. My family and I would definitely be interested in renting this cottage again:)

We've rented Under The Sun now over 10 years for our scrapbooking and card-making weekend crop. UTS is very clean, warm and welcoming. Tables with Ott lights and cup holder w/trash bag already set in place. There is also a Cricut w/cartridges and plenty of punches and CM's custom cutting system. We all had a fun and relaxing time and plenty of good memories!

Front porch was good size, but could use upgraded furniture & some table/floor lamps. The rear deck was very good on size, but could use an umbrella at the dining table. Beachwalk is a relaxing and fun place to vacation. However, the HOA needs to do a better job of up keep and many of the homes are not being kept up the way they should. Under the Sun is in an excellent location (across from pool) and has a wonderful floor plan. However, it needs to be updated. Also many items need repair i.e. fans, dishwasher, TV, lamps etc. Deck needs to be repaired and refinished. Would recommend if owner does the necessary update/ repairs.

And parks were a bonus for the kids.Everyone seems to be in a good mood & the atmosphere is very relaxing & pleasant.Trash pick up is a bit off--if the group before you misses the pick up, then you are stuck with little room for your trash & their stinky trash! Maybe trash reminders are needed

We had a great time during our stay at Beachside. My son and his family from Tacoma, my daughter and her family from Chicago, another daughter and her son from Wheaton and my husband and I had real time together as a family. We had plenty of room to reconnect with one another in a leisurely way without the hustle and bustle of holiday time. After a horrific year of a grave health issue in our family, we were blessed to rejoice in the renewed good health of our patient as well as the birth of a new baby girl for our growing family. My gaggle of girls, laughed, sang, cooked with their grammy, played on the beach, swam in the lake and the pool and just loved being together. Everyday we packed our lunch and off to the lake we went. The one day of all day rain, we went to the movies and then did jigsaw puzzles with their Papa.All of my children and their spouses work very hard during the year. It was such a joy to not be on a schedule other than our own. My grandchildren are ages 15 down to 2 months old, and Beachside worked for each age. Even the new baby went to the beach in a tent for a bit each day. I came home, relaxed and grateful that we could all be just ourselves together. We are deciding which week is best for us next year, because we will certainly be back.

We do love this house and had a great week. A suggestion would be to equip all the bathrooms with rugs and better towels. However, We liked the updates including newer carpeting, the change in the south bedroom and the additional sitting area outside in back. Also, the addition of Over the Moon was great. Under the Sun was fantastic as always. A group of us come twice per year to scrapbook and had missed our last couple gatherings due to the pandemic. The house has been updated with painting and new carpet since our last stay, as well as new appliances. It was delightful as always with a perfect location. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
