Great hotel with a very nice view, everything is clean an high end. They even provide free access to a washing machine and a dryer. The adjacent shipyard can be noisy at times. The whole island doesn't seem to be very touristic.
The dinner is exceptional and like in a Michelin star restaurant. It was evsery day different and was always very good.
It might be that we had chosen a difficult time (end of August, already after season). The points of critique are rather small and some of the following aspects might not be true during the season:
1. There is a very nice outdoor pool on the first floor. To get pool towels you have to go to the reception (third floor) wich you can only reach via the second floor where you have to use a staircase to get there. Not a big deal it just requires thinking ahead.
2. The gym could be better equipped (e.g. no weights). Also, there were neither towels provided nor drinking water.
3. Be aware that the English speaking capabilies of the staff (very few positive exceptions) is quite limited but staff is in general very friendly and helpful.
4. The bay you see in front of the hotel is not for swimming.
Even if these things were not a big deal for us we think it is good to know about them in advance.

隈研吾さんの建築、お部屋のラグジュアリー感、スタッフの対応共に４日間の滞在が素晴らしい経験となりました。海外でも沢山のリゾートに泊まりましたが、日本にもこのような素敵なホテルがあることを知りました。

We felt really welcomed at the hotel! The stuff were all more than incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. The rooms are really nice and spacious and the view is just breathtaking! The restaurant of the hotel is also amazing, from breakfast to dinner everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. The people working at the restaurant are also sooo kind! We observed something amazing - the manager took a baby from its mother for s stroll, so that she can eat in peace. Of course, the architecture of the building is beyond describing, as it is created by the famous architect Kengo Kuma. The interior design is also really nice. When we were leaving, all the stuff came outside the hotel to wave goodbye... A truly amazing hidden jam!
