The host was very kind and helpful when I came late and had problems with my bicycle.
The washroom had ants in the shower.
Location a bit remote.

A lovely family-run homestay. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming – they hosed down our dusty bicycles, and served up a delicious dinner, one of the best we’ve had in Vietnam. Well located between Dong Hoi and Dong Ha to make for two modest cycling days.

Warm welcome, the son speaks some English. Large, airy house, secure motorbike parking. Generous host who offered to do a wash for free and gave us some drinking water.
You can order food, but it's expensive (100k for dinner, 40k for breakfast). We brought our own food, we have a kettle.
I should have read the reviews carefully beforehand. The room is very bare (no kettle, no wardrobe, no chair, no tv, no rubbish bin) and the bathroom is not private! It's overpriced, we've had rooms with all of the above and netflix and a pool for less (paid 290k/night).
But worst of all is the host pestering for Google reviews. It's insane! Started in the evening, continued early morning and when I had been bullied into leaving a review, which I will have to adjust, as of course it could not be honest under those circumstances, he knocked on our door while my teenage son was still sleeping so he would leave a separate review as well! Insane! This has been criticized many times, but is obviously not having an effect. I was really upset and it made me just want to leave and affected my whole day. I felt bullied and it was also a major invasion of my privacy to come to our room repeatedly. The irony is that they would have received a much better review if he had let us be.
The rest of the family seem lovely.
