Excellent Location & Accommodations in Redwoods NP

This property had an excellent location right in Redwoods National Park. It’s right near the scenic drive and many good hikes in the park. The name isn’t a misnomer, either. There are elk all over the adjacent meadow! The room was clean and well-appointed. I checked in after hours (front desk personnel not present) but this was a pretty straightforward process.

While the check-in process via phone was fine, I attempted to get a late checkout for the next day. The reason is so I could hike and not have to worry about all my luggage and stuff in the car. He said I’d have to check with the housekeeping staff at 9 in the morning when they arrived, so this defeated that purpose.
