Beautiful view but the host doesn’t take her responsibility and we had to deal with a safety issue.

Good location and nice outdoor space, but significant issues with the stay. Unfortunately, those positives were outweighed by a number of significant issues during our stay. 1) The shower door was a significant safety concern throughout our stay. When we arrived the door was broken. The owner sent her father to fix it. He tied the door to the track with string. Despite our concerns about the potential hazard of the door falling, we were told that a proper repair couldn’t be made for a few days, so we had to deal with this issue for our entire stay. What was concerning was the host’s response when we raised the safety issue: she told us that it was “not her fault” that the prior guest must have broken it. 2) We had to deal without hot water for two days, and had to shower only with cold water 3) When we arrived, the shower was visibly dirty and grimy. 4) We encountered a significant number of ants everyday, which appeared to be evidence of an existing infestation. 5) The Wi-Fi also didnt work for an entire night. 6) There were also a number of basic items missing : proper kitchen knife, icetray, sufficient paper toilets, hand towels. I understand that guests are responsible for replacing consumable items throughout a stay; however, there should generally be a reasonable initial supply to get guests through at least the first day. What was particularly disappointing, however, was the host’s response to these issues. The host had explained that she manages the property remotly and has difficulty finding reliable maintenance and cleaning personnel. I have empathy for that challenge. But, operating a hospitality property requires accountability for the guest experience : ensuring that the unit is clean, safe, functional. Sh answered that she had already apologized and send us cakes and wine. This gave us the impression that the host does not take the responsibilities of operating a hospitality business seriously.

Another set of keys would be useful.

No hand soap, missing a pillow slip, bed cover was stained, no beach towels, even though we were charged a linen fee.

Fantastic location, lovely host. Highly recommend

Excellent location with a huge terrace and stunning views. Very easy to get around - the cable car which goes up to Taormina is just minutes away from the apartment, as is the beach. The owner of the property is lovely and very helpful.

A few problems with lack of hot water in the shower but the owner was very responsive and couldn’t have been more helpful.

A Beautiful apartment with an amazing view over Mazzaro beach . It has a lift , and located near mini marts and restaurants with the cable car a 3 minute walk away ( as the steps down to many beach clubs
