I was very disappointed with this property, the good points were, the beds were very comfortable, there is masses of storage space in the kitchen & utility room, there was hand wash available at all washbasins & a very generous supply of toilet rolls. The directions to the property were clear & the key was readily accessible. However there my enthusiasm stops. The house is described as a “stunning detached house enjoying an idyllic location...” & later “... and benefitting from the stunning views to the front of the property” The house is detached but it is situated on a very ordinary estate of similar properties , built round a central grassy area & the view from the front downstairs rooms is predominantly of the houses opposite. The house sleeps 10 people but only 5 people could sit on the “cosy leather seating” at any one time (it does say that in the description) . The kitchen is described as fully equipped but that does not apply to basic kitchen equipment, there was no measuring jug, colander, cheese grater, roasting tin or baking sheet upon which to cook things in the bottom oven . The oven itself & grill pan were both dirty too. There was sufficient crockery, cutlery & glassware for 10 but no one pan big enough to cook pasta for four people. There was no adequate chopping board or bread board but by the look of the heavily scored placemats previous tenants had had to use them as we did for chopping veg or cutting bread. The down stairs toilet had a badly cracked & broken toilet seat & outside there was a hole in the raised decking, quite large enough in which an adult foot could get stuck, giving rise to the thought that the woodwork was rotten & giving some concern as to it’s overall safety. Despite advertising the rear garden as “enclosed” it was not, there was a very wide gap at the side of the house leading to an open plan front garden & free access to the road. No child or dog could be left unattended. The “sumptuous tiled family bathroom” is adequate but the over bath shower has very poor water pressure that trickles out. There is a power shower in the en-suite, but the flow is only average, certainly not powerful. I would have contacted the owner or local agent had there been any sign of a contact number nor was there an information book. We had to work out how to get hot water downstairs by a process of trial & error, there was no information regarding bins or re-cycling. And there I have to stop, no more space.
