"The location. Experience Milan from up close."
Very bad communication with the host! The arrival at Col di Lana Apt in Milan was a traumatic experience. We got trapped in the middle of violent riots, with rioters running around our car acting aggressively towards us. I later sent the host the video footage of this; she knew exactly what dangerous situation we were trapped in. Instead of helping us, she abused our crisis on the street. She held the check-in details hostage and refused us entry until we transferred the tourist tax right then and there and shared full, unedited photos of all our IDs via WhatsApp.
Due to European privacy laws (GDPR), we offered a secure, redacted copy using the official government 'KopieID' app. The host aggressively refused this and even called me "stupid" in a WhatsApp voice message. Under extreme psychological pressure on the street, we were forced to compromise our privacy just to get our family to safety. Afterward, the host used 'disappearing messages' on WhatsApp to erase her tracks. The Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante Privacy) explicitly prohibits hosts from keeping or demanding ID copies via unsafe channels. This host completely flouts the law and blackmails guests in danger. Do not book under any circumstances!
