Casa Saba is an absolute gem. It's right in the centre of Trieste but is a little island of calmness. Part of the apartment functions as something like a mini-museum to the poet Umberto Saba, who once ran the beautiful bookshop in the opposite building. It's full of very charming and thoughtful touches. Stefano was incredibly welcoming and helpful. He gave us lots of great tips (i.e. definitely take the tram/funicular to Opicina!). Most things we wanted to do within easy walking distance and there are so many great cafes, bars and restaurants all around. We stayed for three nights but could easily have done longer. It's a fabulous place.
From our point of view, there's really nothing to criticise. We didn't get to use the (internally facing) terrace much at all but that was due to the weather and little else.

The apartment is very spacious, well appointed and in an excellent location. Stephen gave us a very good explanation of the apartment amenities and the significance of the name.
Cushions for the chairs on the terrace would be nice.

The property was tastefully decorated with all the amenities you could think of . It was spacious and the owners have thought about every detail a traveller needs . We were delighted with the experience. It was also extremely quiet and in a perfect location
The owners gave us tips and advice on where to go and eat . Truly amazing.
There was not a thing that we did not like!
