My wife and I from Singapore, came to visit Diskit for the first time to visit the Maitreya Buddha at Diskit monastery. We were lucky enough to have chosen Ladakh Ecotel Farmstay. We actually twice at the same property in Diskit at Nubra Valley as we have visited Turtuk in between.
The farmstay owner Mr. Dorjay is very friendly and hospitable and always happy to assist with any issues or challenges we have. He’s very knowledgeable and have deep understanding of Nubra Valley and currently working on his own project of publishing a book about history, religion and culture geography book of Nubra Valley (both in Ladakhi and English). He’s always helpful about our questions/issues of transportation, shopping, food etc. and gives us endless supply of masala chai 😋
His wife Ms. Palm is very hard working and always seen at the little farm in front of their house, planting, harvesting vegetables, drying apricots and cracking kernels.
Grandma is always smiling and always wanted to offer us fresh apricots. His daughter is always playful and energetic 😄
And Mr. Akash is a great chef that cooks up delicious vegetarian meals for us every night.
The room is very clean and has very comfortable and Mr. Dorjay has also kindly given us the best and quiet room that I have requested during my booking.
It’s really home away from home and we have enjoyed our stay very much! So it is highly recommended!!👍🏻👍🏻

Dorjay and his wife were exceptionally kind and welcoming. The farmstay is in a peaceful location surrounded by green fields, yet it is still within walking distance of the bus stop and Diskit market. We loved the farm tour, picking fresh apricots, meeting the adorable bunnies, and enjoying meals made mostly from vegetables and grains grown on the farm. Dorjay also helped us arrange transport to Turtuk at short notice. Staying here gave us a genuine experience of Ladakhi people, food, and rural life.

The family goes out of their way to take care of you, very friendly. Also the dinners they cook with food from their own farm which was delicious. From the balcony you have a fantastic view of Diskit monastery.
