We stay in this hotel every year and we like it for the location, price, room configuration, two bathrooms, and shower water pressure. It's never been really clean and good smelling, but we overlook it for the above reasons.
This year the stay was just terrible. The hallway and our room smelled like wet dog. The shower curtain rod in one bathroom was broken so we all had to shower in the same bathroom. Both sink drains were messed up.
There was construction happening, so drilling and pounding was going on starting at 8AM every day all across the hall from where our room was, and a yippy dog kept waking us up around 7AM.
The check in process was a mess because I kept getting messages that day that my card on file wasn't going through and they were going to cancel my reservation. After multiple calls and talking to different people, it finally magically went through.
The final straw was that upon checkout, when I told the front desk person about the room, he acted like it was my fault for not asking for a different room. I'm sorry, but I should be able to expect a basic level of cleanliness without having to uproot the whole family in the middle of our trip. The day we checked in they were sold out anyway so it wouldn't have mattered. Plus, I don't think moving would have made much difference except for the bathroom issues.
Hopefully all their construction efforts will improve the smells and the broken fixtures for any future stays.

Room was very nice. We had the suite room which was very nice and large.Air conditioning was very cold and quite.Breakfeast was very small but for me and my wife was just right. A bowl of cereal slice of toast and orange juice and we were on our way to explore the Great Smoky Mt's.

We always stay here every time we come up....its affordable and its always clean...the staff is very nice
