That was my first time at Winstar. Excellent accommodations and well deserved vacation. Would recommend to anyone.

Very clean, updated. Comfortable bed, staff very friendly. Charles City is a nice small town, right on the Cedar River. Dining nearby. I highly recommend "Pub on the Cedar", and staying at this Super 8...it was great !!

The hotel was easy to find. Free parking was available, and it was easy to find a spot near the end of the hotel, pretty close to where our room was. Check-in was fast and trouble-free. There were vending machines in the hallway with bottled water, soft drinks, chips, and candy.
Our room with two double beds was a good size, and clean. The bathroom was smallish, but large enough to meet our needs. There was a selection of toiletries next to the sink (outside the bathroom). The TV wasn't huge, but it had a decent selection of channels.
The free breakfast had a decent selection. It included apple and orange juice, yogurt, make-your-own waffles, a couple of cereals with milk, bananas, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, toast, bagels, coffee, and tea.
There were restaurants nearby, including Dave's Restaurant (which we went to) a couple of blocks away.
All in all, a solid hotel experience for the money — nothing flashy, but a good basic hotel experience.
