This is an exceptional hotel in Ninh Binh. Our room was beautiful and the bed so comfortable. The bathroom had a beautiful bath tub and power shower. What makes this hotel is the staff starting with the concierge who organised our trip for us, he is a credit to the hotel who could work in the top hotels in Mayfair, London where I’m from. Our check in and out was seamless and when we left for Hanoi we had an amazing send off by the staff. Thank you so much Legend Hotel, will be back next year for a longer stay. Best wishes to you all. Our hotel experience didn’t start off great. After 9 hours of travel, we arrived really excited,mainly because we had booked this resort for the rooftop pool. Unfortunately, we were told on arrival that the pool would be closed for 10 days, which was a big disappointment, especially considering the price we paid. It would have been helpful if this had been clearly stated on Expedia beforehand.
When we first entered our room, it was quite unpleasant. There was a strong damp smell, and the bed and chair were actually wet to sit on. The bathroom was also dirty and smelled bad. I contacted reception right away, and to their credit, they handled it well,meeting us downstairs and moving us to a room in another building, which was much better.
The location isn’t ideal as it’s quite far from most things, but we rented a scooter for 250, which made getting around easier.
Despite the rocky start, the hotel staff were absolutely amazing,from reception to the servers and cleaning team. They really made a difference to our stay. The breakfast buffet was average,not the best we’ve had, but not the worst either.
I did contact Expedia and received a small credit, which didn’t feel entirely fair given the situation with the pool. However, the hotel kindly upgraded us to a suite, which was fantastic and greatly appreciated.
A special mention to Linh (I hope I’ve spelled that correctly) he was incredible. It honestly felt like he never stopped working and always went above and beyond.

Breakfast buffet was ok but choice of eggs was sometimes limited as they were making big batches for big tourists groups .Staff was was really good

This place holds a special place in my heart. I booked at the last minute after changing my plans stayed for a week and spent my 50th birthday here. I had been on an escorted tour which i spontaneously left as it wasn’t as expected and randomly chose Ninh Binh and this hotel as a destination for some down time; I’d never heard of either the town or hotel a few days before which now feels unreal as they’re both so vast and beautiful that I can’t believe more people don’t know about them. I had a few issues at the beginning due to some ongoing health/stress issues (exacerbated by the tour, so I really wanted some down time) which meant I was grouchy about ongoing conference and construction noise on site, and about the fact that the rooftop pool/bar was closed. The construction noise IS a bit annoying, but I learned to live with the timings and sleep around it (early to bed, early to rise), however the warmth, friendliness and professionalism of the team and comfort of the room made up for it. The rooms are huge and very well equipped with shower and freestanding bath with a view, minibar, large beds and comfy bedding. Apart from the construction noise it’s very quiet and you cannot hear noise from other rooms. The breakfast buffet was huge. A couple of things to improve: more vegan/veggie options maybe and also keep the coffee and food warm and fresh. The buffet ends early at 9am and as most guests are on tours they tend to eat early and there are fewer people around after 8am
